(And that's everything on this RPG campaign I have for now, more incoming within days)

Gilbert (alongside Chiaki) is one of the first characters ever created for this campaign (that was supposed to be a one-shot, but look at us now, after 120 sessions…). He’s a young adult (around 23), that’s been living out of capturing and selling rare magic animals. Before that he was a crewmate on Alvaro’s pirate ship, together with Lara (Nora’s sister), Gierma (his enemy for some time), Emilia & Louis (their stories will be revealed alongside their own drawings). Gilbert’s in reality a family friend, not really Chiaki’s cousin by blood (which was shocking to me, as I thought that they really are distant relatives xD). He visited her and her parents often since she was about 3-5 yo. He comes from a different kingdom – the same as Lara & Nora. (I want to mention that all those places have names, but it would be confusing, so I’ll stick with giving the overall information).
Currently, Gilbert’s not a captain anymore, he just owns the Thunder, and the status of a captain went to the former boatswain/lieutenant/quartermaster – Lara. It’s quite a new change, but I’ll still refer to him as to the captain of Thunder, when telligh stories where he still was a captain. The Thunder were funded and built both by Lara and Gilbert, so the ship belongs to them both equally (and the older Veve, as well as the residence I mentioned here ).
The name “Thunder” comes from the golden dragon which controls electricity. This dragon were meant to belong to Lara, but during the capture, something went wrong and teenage Gilbert was forced to replace Lara. Because of that Nora acts really salty towards Gilbert, feeling like he betrayed or lied to her sister, promising her a dragon when they both were teenagers and keeping the animal for himself.

The relationship of Lara & Gilbert is quite difficult, because they acted as a couple for a long time, but have never really been together – the ship & the residence are the outcome of this situation and their attempts. But I’ll go back to this under Lara’s description xD It’s really complicated for everyone.
Since capturing the dragon, every time Gilbert have an opportunity to talk about money or material goods, his eyes turns golden and the dragon steps in, agitated by wealth – as most of the dragons do, as a part necessary for hatching. Dragons (and other magic animals with pp 4) can “possess” the body of their contractor when there’s consent, speak through their mouth or move their body. It’s quite convenient when your interlocutor tries to scam you with magic, as dragons are resistant to most illusion or sleep magic. An angered person that have an animal with pp 4 will have slightly changed eyes if the emotions are not controlled. When Gilbert is furious his eyes sparkle with electricity (adequately, a person with a fire dragon would have fiery eyes, etc).
Also, Chiaki doesn't want Gilbert's dragon to hatch, worrying that Gilbert won't be himself anymore. The hatching level is at 40%, after he tried to hatch, to free himself from a powerful illusion put between him and his dragon. But Inana (the over 500yo goddes-like lady with 6 arms) stopped it, rescuing everyone from a certain death, caused by a potential hatching.

Beside dragon, Gilbert has a snow leopard of ice, a manta ray of sponge, air pegasus-zebra, a negation/magic-disabling sea snail (Dondice banyulensis, but I still see it as Spanish Shawl or Hypselodoris apolegma) and a few other that I really can't remember... And that's only the magic animals on-hand, cos' he has over a houndred living in his residence, lol. Welp, it is his job to capture magic animals, isn't it?

The whole campaign began when Chiaki graduated from the best Academy of Magic in the whole “Central” Continent, located at the kingdom’s capital city that Chiaki comes from. Because she’s a huge nerd, she had the highest grades and even befriended her principal (the archmage, a ruler of this kingdom). Because of Chiaki’s graduation and splendid degrees, Gilbert visited her family and offered to help her capture her first animal (as it’s literally his job), because capturing a wild magic animal might get dangerous. As Gilbert distracts Wardog, Chiaki chant a capturing spell using Pocchi’s magic.
It was supposed to be the end of a story, but we began to come up with more and more interesting ideas for this world
Gilbert saw a great potential in Chiaki, so he offered her to join him, in order to show her rare magic animals, the huge world and teach her a trade, so he would gain a successor.
Little did he know, that Chiaki would fall in love with him - a sweet, pure love full of cuddles and kisses in the forehead c: Gosh, Lara even had to explain to Chiaki what love is, and that you cannot have children after just a kiss… Yeah, it got pretty crazy. Also, because of Chiaki’s innocence when it comes to relationships, things got complicated when another neat pirate showed up… But more on this in Gierma’s description! >w> (Don't worry, everything's fine, everyone's somewhat happy xD)
