Take it from someone who used to photograph for a living (not that you can tell from my recent work), that' bullshit.
Yes you make some technical errors, so did I at you age. So do I still. But you screw up a lot less than me, and you have a good eye.

Remember, I have been on this earth nearly three times as long as you. I my experience nasty, vituperative people have had bad experiences and generally loathe themselves and so lash out at others.
You can criticize and instruct with gentleness and humor, or you can be an ass. Please don't take an ass's OPINION to heart.

I thought about it. And even tho this man was obviously just being a dick, I still like the way I handled it. I stood my ground without being criticizing back, even tho he persisted to insult me. Calling my super shoots a silly little alaskan meet and greet, and that I'm not a real photographer.
At first he started out messaging me telling me that I could get better by doing this or this, when I never asked for his advice. and I messaged him back asking why he sent this. I took offense to it because I didn't understand why he felt the need to write it. He writes me back, and tells me a thousand things thats wrong with my page, and my portfolio, and then He wished me luck in the future and said he thinks I would need it, and that He was trying to "help" me but since I thought I knew it all, he congratulated me. I said
"I never said I knew it all, nor did I give any indication that I wanted you
to assume it. My page even says that I am still learning, and as for my
message back to you, I simply stated that I didn't understand why someone
would give advice to someone who didn't ask for it unless they were trying
to hint that they sucked. Now that I know that was pretty much what you
were hinting at, I see that I was right to feel that way."

A friend said he paid $3,000.00 for wedding photos. I almost choked. The photos and video were no great shakes( the video was extra). Here I sit in an area where the value of wedding photos has scarcely changed 30 years (still under $1000.00)

Yea I'm running a promo with my company where I'll do it for free in exchange for a model release. It's to help build up my portfolio. And I got a LOT of bites. 6 weddings in July alone. The one I did Sunday tipped me $100 just for the hell of it, and I told her it was way too much. And she said "Honey, compared to the $1100 + the other photographers in town were wanting to charge me, this is NOTHING. I'm just sorry it couldn't be more." I didn't complain. LOL
