Love what you're doing for Rage.
Painting with wax is called encaustics. My friend works at R&F Handmade paints in NY look for them online. The times I played with it I used a heat gun to chase the wax out on the canvas etc. Lets you play on the painting itself more than just the original application out of the heat dish.
I hope to get my stuff up for you to see soon.

Pretty good. I'm in between "real" projects so am just noodling around with lots of experimental stuff at the moment.

I'll be putting up several more sculptures over the next week because I just got back from an art show. I'm just now recovering from the post convention haze.

the white wolf guys kick some serious ass - i haven't played anything of theirs [or any non-computer RPG] since highschool, but the stuff still rocks pretty hard.

Normally most of my sculpts are done as prizes at various conventions, so my schedule is really weird as to how often I get them done. I may or may not be doing an Anubis sculpt in the near future. It depends on whether we can find a judge for a con in California in January. If we can, Anubis is next on the blocks. If not, not sure what'll be next.
It's actually pretty funny since I have three of perhaps 20 sculptures I've. Two are, really, really ancient sculpts from when I was just starting, and one's that giant monster because it's here being repaired after UPS had it's way with it. Bloody UPS.

Thanks for the fav. You have some really well-done sculpture here. Ceramic or plaster is it?

fenrislorsrai In reply to The-Darkwolf [2004-10-31 03:21:14 +0000 UTC]
They're actually ApoxieSculpt, which is a binary epoxy compound. I got hooked on it when I was looking for a new source of self-drying clay and tripped over this stuff, which is self drying, doesn't shrink, plus is non-toxic. It is truly awesome stuff. It's available through [link]
I sound like an add for ApoxieSculpt, but I really do like it THAT much.

Sorry to hear about your run in with UPS as well. Hopefully you'll be able to patch him up.

Fortunately Slayer's not unfixable, he's just taking up virtually my entire living room at the moment. I can't fix him until UPS closes out the insurance claim on him, which means I A) can't repair him until they do and B) have to keep the original box and packing materials.
I used to have a living room...
Having it sitting there taunting me going "fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiix me" and not being able to do so due to bureaucracy makes me want to hunt down the UPS claims agent and bite them.

hahaha! That would probably be for the greater good. It'll prevent other such incidents from happening. lol Don't let it taunt you anymore. If it does, threaten it with a hammer.
