I find the key is ignore a cat until curiosity gets the better of it and they need to find out why you are not interested in it. At that point it's bound to investigate you with great enthusiasm Works every time, as does the offer of food of course

I've messed up Several deviants read the original title of my llama submission ("Give a llama -- Give me! Give me!") as a request or even demand for a llama to be given to me. This was NOT the case. When I composed the title I had the mental image of a llama jumping up and down, like an over excited little child
That is: "You are going to give a llama away? - Give Me! Give Me!"
My thoughts obviously didn't hit the right note so I changed the wording to "Pick ME!"
I hope this explanation makes things clear.
