Hehe, I'm glad to hear that! Mine was better than I expected too.
I thought I wouldn't get any presents, and we didn't really celebrate it. The situation in my country is quite terrible at the moment, and most of my family isn't even in Venezuela anymore. So it's been a while since we've done family reunions and that kind of thing. I spent Christmas watching anime with my mom and working.
But like three days ago my dad got me a really nice t-shirt I wanted. 
And I bought a smartphone for myself. I don't take it out of the house, but it's been really fun anyway. Now I know why Neko Atsume got so popular.
I may send you a note later, to see if I can add you on WhatsApp.
And I'm also on vacation until mid January.

That and it's too expensive. I just don't think the core features are worth that much. My current job contract expires in February and there are big changes at my workplace right now, so I may be jobless again with 0 income. π‘ I won't be able to afford it.
Aww, I'm sorry. Still I'm glad it wasn't that bad for you. I got a lot of things this year. I even bought stuff for myself, which I never do. We never have family reunions, though. I just celebrate with close family and friends. I spent my Christmas doing household chores, decorating and playing games. XD

I actually spent a lot last month, I don't know why. I mean, I know why, I bought a ton of weeaboo shit impulsively.
What I don't know is where those impulses come from.
I do believe money should be spent in the things we enjoy though, and living in such an dire economical situation has reinforced that notion. It's like a "now or never" mentality, since you don't know when the zombie apocalypse will start. Or when you'll be taken away by aliens.
If I can't find any food, I might as well spend my money on anime figures and starve to death happily.
Oh, I didn't know you couldn't have those apps on Windows Phones! That's so unfair!

Maybe I should install Messenger. I used it to communicate with my last local client, and having the app on my phone would have been useful.

Ahaha, I see. I come from a poor family and was raised in a mentality that saving up money is vital. But there is no point in never spending money on anything. I mean what can I do with my money in the bank if the zombie apocalypse breaks out tomorrow?
On a more serious note, I hope you and your family are still doing okay despite the terrible economical situation in your country.
Windows Phone is dying already. There are less and less users and nobody thinks of making new apps for it because it's just not worth it. Still, the apps you can still get are actually really good, the problem is that there's no point in using a messaging or other interactive app none of your friends use. X'D
Ok, just installed WhatsApp, I don't know how to add people yet but I can note you my number if you'd like to add me. I was "forced" to install Messenger because of the Facebook app. Facebook is super popular in my country and all my coworkers and most of my acquaintances use it, so it came evident that we use its messaging app too.

I hope everything goes well. I know those words can sound empty, but I sincerely want things to go great for you, regardless of where you end up working.
Haha, I guess in my case it's a really weird mentality reversal. When I was a child my family was really comfortable economically, since my dad had a job that paid him well. We could travel abroad every year, and I usually got what I wanted for my birthday. But my parents had a really pro-savings mentality, so I was the kind of child who would never ask for anything, even though my family had money. Now it's the other way around. We're poor, living in a country where we can barely afford basic expenses, but since I'm making my own money (I make more with my commissions than my dad makes with his job) I buy myself all kinds of unnecessary things like anime merch, and I'm paying for my own college education. Now I feel the need to spend my money on every anime figure I like, or manga I want to own. Which may not be exactly wise.
And thank you! To be honest, I'm losing hope in this country. There's no possible future here, literally. So unless the government falls soon, I'll have to start looking for online jobs and saving up in foreign currency to be able to leave this place and go to Europe, I guess, since I'm a spanish citizen.

Wow, it was actually the same for me...? My family was poor before I was born, but they got relatively comfortable economically by the time I was born and I had everything as a kid, so I never really asked for anything. I've never been abroad with my family, though. The other day I read an article about Venezuela and it brought me close to tears, it's... unbelievable that countries can get into critical situations like this in today's modern world. It's great that you can make money with commissions, though.

Facebook is used for everything here, mainly to keep in touch with family, friends, coworkers or schoolmates but ppl use it for job-hunting, education, advertising and work too. A lot of artists also use it for sharing artworks. There used to be a relatively big Hungarian social network before Fb got so popular, but after Fb became available with a Hungarian interface, users started migrating there in great numbers and the Hungarian site was eventually closed down.
