The way I see wealth and prvalege though ties back to man's search for paradise. The farther we are from a perfect life, the easier it is to make life better for ourselves. The closer we get to perfection, the more frustrated we get at not having that one rare treasure that we need, and that frustration builds to the point that we tear ourselves apart for the tiniest trinket we lack and are forced to start over again from zero.
