Thanks! I'm not used to drawing machinery, and I found that it is much less forgiving than organics, especially when it comes to perspective. I've been checking out drawing techniques used by industrial designers, though. Looks like it might be helpful.

And I have to learn 3D as well. I have Sketchup and Blender installed, trying them out to see which one I like more.

So yeah, lots of learning here on my end. It's all worth it, though!

I remember checking out some of your works through Sketchup Overdrive. In fact, your design sheet was used as a reference to make my own.

Really like the way your weapons come out; I still have a ways to go in that department. The mecha look nice too; very utilitarian, which is a style I quite like.

Templates? What you see is what you get, pretty much. They're frankens so they're just pieced together from various sources. If you mean something like line art, back when I made those I didn't use any layers so none exists.

the reason for this request is that well, i created a story in my head it has nothing to do with code geass though, they do use the knightmares from it and one of the characters i made is kekeshi and all the knightmare frames he uses are red and i just wanted to have a red burai kai

Well, they are frankens after all. They use official and other sources pieced together to make a single design; all I do is cleaning up, outlining, coloring and a few design tweaks or original parts here and there. As such, most if not all of the credit goes to the original designers.
