I had a pit bull over the summer and when we lost our house he was at my brothers but ran away. A lady found him eating her mcdonalds in her car but had 4 black labs herself and couldnt keep him more then a few days. So they came at him with those stick thing with the collar at the end and he got scared and viscious. Meawhile he was NEVER viscious when he was with us.
We found a poster with a pic of him asking for someone to claim him at the Desden Animal Shelter. So we went there and asked, and a snotty lady said she'd never seen a dog like that come there. So two day's later my mom went back and the same lady was like like "oh yeah that dog was just put to sleep"
I think it's great what your doing. Pits need all the help they can get. Your great = )

Pit Bulls are awesome! I had a little female white one named Isis, but we had to put her down because of how badly she was injured when ran over by a car. It made me sad.

It never fails to hurt me when I hear people say such disgusting things about this wonderful breed. When I realize that they're coming from the mouths of shelters and so-called animal activists, it's like a blow to the head and my heart aches. I don't understand how animal people can not realize just how false these stereotypes are.
It's just not right - fight the good fight! Not just for pit bulls, but for dobermans, rottweilers, and all the other dogs out there!

These same people probably also believe that ALL Labradors are perfect harmless angels, yet Labs (not pits) are the #1 bite breed in the US.

Looks like some politicians want to get profile by crusading against what they want the people to consider dangerous, because they lack the spines to do something against the real killers, smoking, alcohol etc. Damn populists and lobbies!
We have some laws this way in Germany, but they differ in each federal land (like a federal state but smaller) of the state, in some of them owning certain breeds is only allowed if they are castrated, but many owners ignore it as far as I know.
The second aspect of our laws on this matter, which I really think is way better than any kind of BSL is that in many federal lands of Germany the owner has to pass a psychologic test to get permission to own a dog of certain breeds. As the main cause is the deed, I consider this the right way.
