hey so

Steamroll is #19. Make sure to read Screamz comment too
I'm surprised you didn't get a higher score than you did! I think I actually scored higher, and mine and NDF's story was not NEARLY as clever as yours...!
I guess that goes to show that we both need more improvement on writing, huh?
Oh yeah and NDF is really upset about our score, she believes that it's all her fault and that I could have scored higher without her... we're number 69. I've been trying to tell her she's not all that bad, and a lot of it is my fault too, alas...

jesus shitfuck
i dont understand
i dont
My sympathies go out to NDF.
Windslash did call her out specifically, so I know she must be feelin' it, but she should probably take that message to heart. Something about last two times?

UltimateSassMaster In reply to Deeborm [2013-09-18 17:39:19 +0000 UTC]
I'm a bit upset that I didn't get called out, honestly..! One of the major problems with ours was the perspective switch, and that was due to the way we wrote it aurgh.
The last two missions she submitted a thing, but I assume Wind told her what she needed to improve and she still didn't
In other news I'm # 69 whut whut in the butt

Deeborm In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2013-09-18 17:43:12 +0000 UTC]
That's probably because it was implied that everything Wind DIDN'T call her out on was your fault
Also I did not make that connection until just now. Hah

As long as you gave it your best shot, there's nothing to be ashamed about. And even if you didn't, the group's not supposed to be about stressing everyone out.
That, and it can be hard to tell what judges are looking for.
Most importantly, don't beat yourself up over some dude's comments! Better to consider them and then move on.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to sulk for 1000 years over my score

but I am a fuckup. I've been one all my life. Everyone tells me I won't get anywhere with writing, that I'd do a better job at being a maid or a cat lady for the rest of my life.

I'm a terrible motivational speaker but I would say, if that's really what you want to do, your best course of action is to work really hard at it and then throw books at everyone who doubted you.

I guess you're right(I really started spelling write XD) but its just so hard to get crits on writing here but I don't blame them. The Lit section in dA is filled to the brim of Canon Character X Reader pairings, which I hate see when I read a PMDe writing entry.

Deeborm In reply to InsomniacFlaaffy [2013-09-18 17:46:45 +0000 UTC]
If you ask around there are probably people willing to critique your stuff. That goes for this group and the IRC, as well as elsewhere on the net. Also if asked I am willing to critique things unless I feel extra lazy that day
As far as theΒ Canon Character X ReaderΒ stuff I mostly just see those and laugh.
Besides, this is Pokemon fanfiction. How much higher up is it?

Im thinking of joining PMD-E as a writer. any tips?
π: 0 β©: 1
Deeborm In reply to Stalagtite [2013-09-06 00:28:58 +0000 UTC]
Let me think of some tips real quick...
First off, you should just go for it. You lose nothing besides the time you put into it, and you can contribute as much or as little as you like.
Make sure to give the rules a look over. The group doesn't have many serious rules, but there are a couple of limitations to look out for. Also check the PMD-E wiki for plot summary and other information that will help the tasks make more sense. Ask the staff (via a group note, the IRC, or the official Tumblr) if you have any specific questions!
Don't expect anyone to comment on your stuff, at least not at first. Stories take a much greater time investment than artwork, after all.
Cameoing other teams is a good way to promote your work, but don't overdo it. You can also ask for feedback in the group chat if you need it.
There's not much else to be aware of. The group's about having fun and improving your skills, so just do that and you're all set!
As for tips on how to write good... that's a harder one, and I'm not a trained professional. A good starting point is to try and write something you'd want to read.
There's a lot more to it, but writing is different for everyone. Just try it and see what you like best. Remember, your writing is for you, first and foremost.
uh that's all I got. For more about group, ask staff, for more about writing, ask internet

Okay, I have tried to make the other arm more noticeable when crossed, and, theoretically, a normal person should be able to figure out a way. I, however, have come to the conclusion I would have to start over from scratch, aaaand I'm not gonna do that. I'll make you another one later sometime! It'll be of Manny dancing or something.

Probably.

Okay, so I found out the problem! The guy who hosts the server is really bad with computers. He doesn't know a computer needs to be on 24/7 in order to host a server 24/7 and I'm not sure how to break it to him xD So, it will probably just be on during days. Least until I can donate a junker for him to perma-run. I'll have to get you on sometime to give you the tour, though.
