Yeah, it hasn't been fun - not in the least. Migraines are a bitch, especially when you get them chronically at least once or twice a week.

Migraines suck...especially if they're gonna be the reason you end up repeating 12th grade.

So I discovered this [link] and thought that it would make an awesome boss theme. Yes I've played that game since I was a kid, but in all the chaos that level inherently brings the song was often drowned out and I'd only catch small bits of it.

Yeah. Thankfully it looks like my senior project was enough to get me to pass.. since I have enough credits.

Ah, good ol' SF64. I played the hell outta that as a kid. Soundtrack was boss, and gameplay just couldn't be topped for its' genre. Very true - that song has qualities reminiscent of a boss theme, and would fit rather well.

I hope it all works out!

Soundtrack was more than boss and the gameplay was top-notch. Man those were the good ole' days...

I do as well. Thanks, man.

Ah, the good old days.. I'll tell you what, you can play N64 games flawlessly on an emulator these days, but it just doesn't beat playing them with a real N64 and controller on a 1990's television.
I still have my whole setup, but unfortunately my TV had a little too much "magnetic attention", and happens to be black-and-white now.

No problem bro.

I've had to resort to emulators for my N64 and Genesis games. Good for nostalgia but doesn't quite match up to the real deal. Just need to dig them all out after I get an official room in the basement.

So I finished my senior project. Remember that old laptop of mine? The one that died?

I know that feeling. :/ Never had the cash to grab a working SNES, so had to resort to an emulator. While it's fun to play on the emulator, I'd still buy the real thing if given the chance.

Yeah I remember that.

I've had one since I was 5...still works perfectly fine today.

Well, get this. The thing is fried, right? So I'm going to use it for my senior project as an example of badly designed hardware.
I even test it before I take it in to make sure it was dead.
During my presentation when I turn it on, that glorious bastard's monitor comes on and it actually boots up.
6 months. 6 months that thing has been dead, and chose my senior presentation day of all days, when it was supposed to be dead, to breathe life again.

Lucky. I never had that luxury.

...technology just hates you, doesn't it?

I was placed into a family that has some money...it's a luxury I fully appreciate.

Yes. Yes, it does. Very much.
At least now I can go back and back-up anything I missed off of the old hard drive.

Glad you do - most people don't realize how hard it is for other people just to get by.

Sweet. Hey remember that game I was trying to develop a few years ago?

It helps that some of my best friends live well below the poverty line. I get a much better perspective on life that way.

(Late reply is late, graduation preparation and all that) Yeah, I remember that game quite well actually.

I'm not really below the poverty line, but close. Regardless I'm glad you realize that not everyone lives the "good life". The real "good life" is having good friends and just enjoying life with what you have.

Well it's not a dead project (yet). You still interested in working on it?

My mom doesn't understand that though...and I really wish she did.

Well, to be honest I don't think I'd have much time to work on it. I'll be heading to college soon, and will probably be starting my own projects. I'll do what I can, but I don't want to make promises I can't keep. Sorry, man.

Some people just can't change, I guess. No offense to your mom.
