Haha, it's the same here in Sweden too.. At least on the main land. The island (Gotland) have almost a tropical climate so it switches from rain, storm and thunder to bright burning sunlight in minutes! Summer is the best.
If you want to go there I recommend to go week 32 ;D It's the medieval week in Visby! Best week of the year! And there are pirates there too, not only Vitalie pirates (vitalienbrüder in German right?), some persist to be 1700's pirates thought it's not medieval They are holding a "tower trip" every year, where you suppose to walk around Visby's great wall and stop at every tower to tell a story and drink. The wall is 3,4 km long and have 27 towers still standing. The person who passes out last wins, or loses, however you see it. Much fun

It's sad, because they are kind of deleted from Swedish history. They aren't named in any school books, and I've lived in Visby for 4 years and never, not even on Medieval week, has any history of Vitalien brothers come up. I think I shall tip the arrangers to have that as a theme next year ;D I've tried to find some books or history of them, but there is nothing in Sweden Brief mention of Störtebecker in the marine history museum though.
Störtebecker was almost as bad-ass as Blackbeard then! Guess he would walk past more if the headsman hadn't tripped him ;D
Found out that the homepage of Medieval week is translated to English and Deutsch [link] Or at least the program is Great tip if you going for a visit in Visby!

I'm kind of interested to join your crew, but I'm not sure how the proofs work? Shall I write something in what says that I want to join and how loyal I am, or could it be anything, like a story about pirates that has nothing to do about me? For example, I have written one chapter of book I'm just started, about pirates of course (It actually takes place in the world of PotC) I have some friends to read it trough and help me fix mistakes (since english is not my natvie language ) I'm planning to post it here on DA when my friends are done, but I could send you the scrap if you want!

If you want to know how to do a proof. There are about 14 examples here (just check the proof section): [link]

Basically, what I want is for you to demonstrate loyalty to the captain in your proof (the captain is me obviously). Once you've done that and you've read the rules about joining, you'll get to wear our flag when it's finished AND become a part of the bounty list, which is a system designed to help artists strive for improvement in their works and viewership
