Ohmygosh I had no idea an artist this good could exist!!! Your artwork feels so fresh, inspired, and unique. This has nothing to do with some gift fics I'm writing, no sirie. *sweats*

1. The Independence was Ray's first assignment, meaning he was straight out of Starfleet when he joined the team. He was put on this assignment about a year after the Independence was first launched, meaning he wasn't part of the original crew. As for racism, he experienced a surprisingly small amount of it. Of course he was made fun of for some of his quirky mannerisms and customs, but for the most part only by his friends and in respect. If there were those that were racist towards him, he was too busy or uninterested to notice.
2. I have done literally nothing with their stories actually
They're on the back burner, and I'm going to recreate Flight Tool's design 'cause I didn't like my first attempt.
