Screw the sky, use the galaxy! I'm doing well, just getting ready for my winter class to start in my college next Tuesday. It's ancient art; ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, etc. Oh and Happy New Year to you too! I don't really have any resolutions because I never accomplish them. It's mostly to just continue planning out my stories and improve my drawing skills for when I start my animation classes this Spring.

Nice! That must be really cool. I got Art of 3D animation in my spring course, but for some reason when I looked online, there was no classes for 3D modeling. Hopefully they'll teach how to do 3D models alongside with animation in that class.

I think if you are doing 3D animation, they would have to teach you how to do 3D modeling :/ I feel like the two kind of go hand in hand, however I find the modeling part harder than the animating part so far ;A;

I hope that they do. It wouldn't be fair for the professor to expect you to automatically know and master 3D modeling. As you said before, they do go hand in hand anyways. Modeling, I think I would find that fun because not only it's a challenge, but the outcome of how this or that would look upon the character before the animation.

I just made a resolution, but it wasn't for New Year's or the whole year to accomplish. It was to dye my hair a fun color. Which I just did today! I used a liquid chalk hair dye by l'oreal because I don't need to bleach or do anything else that would further damage my hair (I have dark brown, long curls). I used a purple and blue dye to make an ombre galaxy hair look with my natural hair color still showing at the top. Natural hair at top, middle is purple, and the tips are blue, but I still need to add more color or practice with that sort of hair dye/liquid chalk for the colors to come out more.

I wanted to dye my hair like a lavender grey, the color from L'oreal Feria, but I'm not sure how to bleach my hair or if I should because originally I have dark brown hair :/

It came out sort of faded, but I'm going to try again tomorrow once I wash my hair beforehand. The purple is hard to see, but the blue came out more.

I don't really like bleach because of the damages it causes to your hair. So for dark haired brunettes like us, it might be better to use the liquid chalk, hair chalk, or even soft pastels. It's temporary, doesn't do much damage and it's not going to damage your hair so much, except for making it dry, tangled, or clumpy which is generously fine by me. Hair does that naturally anyways.

There are pros and cons to hair chalk. I've been using soft pastels for my original character cosplay and for fun. It's better and cheaper than the regular hair chalk seen in beauty stores because those break really easily. You can find soft pastels in an art store, just remember, don't pick other pastel types (oil, hard, regular chalk, etc.) because those can in fact break your hair. With soft pastels for dark hair, start with a white color first as a base and you wet the pastel and gently rub it onto the section of hair that you want to color, then use whatever color you want to use afterwards. Once done, be sure to use a hairdryer, flat or curl iron, or hairspray to keep the chalk in your hair, but you have to wash it off on the same day because it will transfer onto your skin and clothes. That's the downside. Trust me, you don't want a rainbow of colors on good clothing or pillowcases. Worse on your skin.

The other cons to that is that just as it could go on your skin and clothes, it could transfer near your face too. I had to blow my nose a lot, only to find colored snot coming out. I chose to try out the l'oreal liquid chalk to see how it goes, and it's doing pretty good. It's not transferring onto my clothes or skin which is good, but I'm not taking big chances of sleeping with it (based on the hair chalk story I gave at the moment. >.<), so I'm going to wash it off as soon as possible.

Yeah, that's the downside to hair chalk. Also, after I washed my hair, it's still stained with color from the liquid chalk. I can still see the purple and blue on my hair. Hair chalk is better for cosplay since it's a short event and when you need you can easily wash it out for the next hairstyle or when you need to use a wig.
