Hmm... what strategy are you using? I can try to give you the strategy from the guide book if you want, but I'm not sure if it would work with everybody. I used a little bit of it while mixing it with mines. As long as I know Vanitas's fighting pattern then I know what to do.

Well with the 'finish' him off bit I can't even heal! there is only an option for 'dark sheild' or something, so I tend to keep bashing him to finish it quickly and end up dying
The strategy would be helpful perhaps...

According to the guide:

When your in the weird space, you're restricted to Vanitas's moves such as Dark spiral and Dark splicer. Whenever you execute certain attack chains on Vanitas, the camera switches to a side view, and you have to follow button or analog stick prompts to push Vanitas off the screen. If you win this exchange, your Command Gauge charges. If you lose, Ventus takes damage. (This part I got messed up with swirling the analog stick the wrong way and almost died )

Vanitas won't take any damage in this battle, but your goal is to fully charge your Command gauge so you can unleash Vanitas's "Last Word" Finish Command. That's the only move to end this fight.

And have you finished BBS? I can't defeat Vanitas I've only played a bit of Ven's story as well! It's the bit where you're in the deserty/keyblade graveyard place... WAAAAAH so unfair that I'm stuck!

Yeah, I already finished it. I would recommend leveling up to about around 40 (if you have EXP Walker, you'll get 1 EXP point for every step), try to get Attack Haste x5, Dark Screen x2, Cure Boost x3(have a lot of cure spells on you too), Leaf Bracer (you can heal yourself without getting hurt when an enemy attacks), and HP Boost x3. This is all the advise I can give you. Hope you can beat him this time.

I bought KHrecoded and my very own Nintendo DS. Now I don't need to fight with my brother over his DS anymore. I bought KHrecoded on Playasia, but it hasn't even ship yet, so I bought it at Gamestop instead. I'm not sure what to do with an extra KHrecoded though since it won't let me change my order. -_- I wonder if I should sell it to my friends or give it to my brother?

According to Nomura, the KH3D will only have new worlds, except Traverse Town and the story of this game took place after KHrecoded, which it is also after KH2. Why Sora and Riku are in the KH1 form will be explained in the future. That's as much as I can sum it out, but there are other info that you probably don't want to know yet until KHrecoded comes out next year. I am so hyped up for the the game more than before!
