how long were you there? I lived in the kansai region for 4 months and fell in love. Do you know kansai ben?

I was there twelve days for my honeymoon. We spent four nights in Tokyo, one night in Hakone, and the rest of the time in Kyoto. We flew out of Kansai airport in Osaka but I don't know if that's the same Kansai your'e talking about.

yeah I flew in and out of Kansai airport. It was rather small. I lived about an hour away from that airport in a precinct called hirakata, but it was right next to kyoto so I was there all the time. I spent a weekend in Tokyo but that's all

Tokyo was kind of... "eh". It was a lot like New York City only cleaner and with less people speaking English. It was so big and jumbled. I really enjoyed Kyoto, not only because I've been interested in maiko and geiko for more than 10 years, but because it seemed quieter, more artistic and traditional, and much more hospitible. It was more of a "Japanese expirience" than Tokyo was.
