# About me

Converting memories to pixels :)

Konstantinos Vasilakis is a seventies child and like his friends say if you missed the 70's you have missed everything even though he has only lived a year into that decade. His relation with photography started at child age when he destroyed all the cameras that his grandfather left laying around and later in a more mature approach he took ownership of his dad's Nikon and started exploring. It was love at first sight and a beautiful journey has started which brought him to a small village in the mountain range of Pindos, Greece, where he lives and work as a landscape photographer leading workshops and enjoying the outdoors of the Greek countryside while creating his art. His images have traveled in many places through competitions and publications and one day he hopes he will be able to follow them as well. For more information you can find him at his website or facebook

hi, i noticed you used a nikon d200 im thinking about getting one for my birthday, i found a second hand one for Β£400 just wondered what your opinion on it was, your pictures certainly look brilliant, do you use particular lenses for them?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KirlianCamera In reply to corrinapalmer [2011-05-12 09:40:52 +0000 UTC]

I think that 400 quid is a bit on the pricey side for a camera body 6 years old. It is a great camera but now it shows its age. Not a good high iso performer and a battery hog but its ccd sensor IMO was a real gem for landscapes where you keep the ISO values always at minimum. If you want high ISO performance you should consider something else.

I think a used D90 is a better deal than the aging D200. Or if you definitely want a pro body consider the D300 which should sell around 400 quid used.

Either way all three coupled with a tokina 12-24DX will work wonders and if you need extra range get the Nikkor 18-200DX and you will be covered for almost everything you will encounter.
