My best wishes for a wonderful New Year...maybe I will see you some day in Everquest...just look for Trillien on E'ci/Tunare in EQ I or Trilliene on Permafrost in EQ II

Kusar In reply to cylver [2006-12-30 11:15:49 +0000 UTC]

I just tag back into EQ1 today with their 'come back and see us' free 30 days for old accounts... and my characters are on Tunare!! (Well, now, originally E'ci)

And a definite Happy New Year for you, too!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cylver In reply to Kusar [2006-12-30 12:26:53 +0000 UTC]

I have three accounts, one was inactive, so I took the free 30 days for that one, so I could get some research materials from those characters. Amazing...that you are on Tunare, too (although to me, it will always be E'ci, my birth server . Look for Trillien, Darkelady, Peacefyl, send me a tell...I am known on Trillien as the mage who always casts bags of free pet toys.

Kusar In reply to cylver [2006-12-30 23:54:34 +0000 UTC]

Wow. Three accounts here, too. Can you tell what I did for recreation when EQ came out? I started on Xegony in beta, but my guild went to E'ci when the game went live. Was there for many years, but have not played for a couple of years now. Kiasris, Blacque and Wolfe, were my primaries, with Kierce, Sadiste and Wytche I did a lot with also. I'll probably poke around with Amoressa, Kyrice and Kellika seeing what's changed as well.
I'll keep an eye out for you.

I'm a roleplayer, evil..good..naughty..nice..mischievous.. can do!! (Ok, I can do more than those... but they seem the most party-ish!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2007-01-01 16:28:54 +0000 UTC]

lol i used to roleplay my iksar...4 of my close friends (and my ex) would meet once a week and we all have evil races and learned each other's languages and all we did was talk in lizard speak or dark speech and others would always go "huh?" lmao. we also weren't nice when we play out dark characters. hehehe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-01 17:17:28 +0000 UTC]

Hehehe I had a thing about languages and tried to learn everything with all the chars I played regularly Occasionally I'd get on some roll and switch to Tier'dal or Dark Speech for a while. I tried to basically not interfere with what others were doing, but beyond that I did enjoy a good dark elf headspace.
'Course the deepest RP'ing I've done hasn't been online... Vampires and Werewolf have been much more involved. And an 'Arcadia' game based on the White Wolf mechanics. Ahhhh... the headspaces I've been!

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-03 05:39:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's fun... and sometimes all that makes RL bearable. It's good to have a couple of good RP'ers around to play headspaces with each other.

Maybe you just need a little more practice/opportunity to fun it up a bit. You don't seem boring to me.

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2007-01-05 02:56:28 +0000 UTC]

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-05 04:46:17 +0000 UTC]

Well, I didn't necessarily mean funning it up in Norrath. And no, not boring. Admittedly a somewhat limited interchange between us, but I certainly don't get a 'boring' feel from you at all.

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2006-12-29 19:22:06 +0000 UTC]

you still remind me of my friend Kusari though lmao...tis a good thing, he was a wonderful ranger and a very protective one so this high elf cleric was always safe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2006-12-29 23:36:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, Kierce was a fier'dal warrioress who knew how to keep her healers safe, but she didn't have one in particular to protect, I fear. In Vana'diel she took the form of a hume warrioress, and spent every effort keeping a very special taru white mage safe.
Hmm... and Kierce's grandaughter in EQ2 kept between a koada'dal templar and the baddies, too. Must just be a habit of mine.

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2006-12-31 06:40:58 +0000 UTC]

lol, i must say although my main character's a high elf cleric, i enjoyed being a half elf ranger. she was awesome and i loved being able to solo and not rely on others to protect me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2006-12-31 07:42:57 +0000 UTC]

My main was a Tier'dal magicianne... never really expected her to be, just made her to summon bandages, truth be told. Then I played her, liked her and found I could solo quite well with her. And she just took over a majority of my play. My second turned out to be shadow knight for much the same reasons you quote.

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2006-12-31 07:45:19 +0000 UTC]

magicians get to have pets right? i remember creating one at some point but never really played her much because i picked an erudite and she can't see a thing at night

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2006-12-31 07:48:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, we ARE the summoners! We get the elementals. Plus we can conjure up all sorts of cool stuff. And I preferred Tier'dal both for attitude and the excellent night-sight. Ok, mostly for the attitude, but hey... Magicianne, SK, cleric, enchantress, necro... all dark elves here.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2006-12-31 07:52:42 +0000 UTC]

yep, i remember my favorite pet was the earth elemental. as for alts i have a woodelf druid, dark elf necro, barbarian warrior, iksar shaman, my fav half elf ranger and my main high elf cleric

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2006-12-31 08:08:45 +0000 UTC]

Well... actually I have 3 EQ accounts Just re-opened with SOE's 30-day free re-look here yesterday. Mage, SK and druid (human) were my most-played, but enjoyed the Fier'dal warrioress very much as well. Monk and bard I'd started messing with too. And a slew of others to try, of course. Mostly elves of one type or other, some humans. Couple of barbs, an iksar, a vah shir. But definitely mostly elves (dark, wood, half or high).

lol boy you're a serious gamer, i wish i have enough time but since my kids i haven't had enough. i even had to make use of their bedtime to squeeze in some artwork lol. EQ1 is so different now, they made it too easy. i remember before they have the plane to port in and out of, we had to take the boat and wait for it or pay druids or wizzies to port us. i also remember having to do a corpse run at level 1...it was scary lmao. back then the hardest to learn is being a bard because twisting songs requires you to have your right hand twist songs while you talk and do other things such as run and melee with the other. if you can twist four songs at the same time, you're one of the best.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-01 17:10:29 +0000 UTC]

OMG No kidding! Corpse runs... running across Antonica at level 6... waiting for the boats... the dang book filling your screen wondering what the noise was sneaking up on you... making tattered leather armor... and being overjoyed when you got banded... ROFL!!
I tried bard 3 times and deleted prior to level 10 because of twisting. Finally got so I could twist 4, but only singing, I wasn't good enough to swap instruments. I used my mage to get ahold of two instrument weapons, a troubador's mace and a battle drummer's main gauche, just so I could say I was using instruments! I discovered they now have implemented a /melody macro command to play multiple songs!
Oh, I don't have near the time to do what I used to do. I've played a bunch of games since, including EQ2, FFXI and WoW, and they gobble time if you let them, to be sure. I tagged back into EQ1 with the free month just to see what it was like now. I have to admit, it does seem a bit like home. But it also seems very strange too. My old guild even still exists, but I think the GL may be the only I know from when I stopped playing 2+ years ago.
No kids here, but plenty of other things to split my time amongst. D&D and miniatures obviously, plus WW2 re-enactment now. And I haven't had time for any wargaming for over a year due to a screwy schedule, and medieval/renaissance events have been lost amid the shuffle, too.

RainfeatherPearl In reply to Kusar [2007-01-01 19:09:21 +0000 UTC]

roflmao so you did go through having to med with that book covering the screen. i always had my staff of the observers with me to warn me about the mob but it was so annoying it makes other players mad i remember a guild event one day where we all created a character and did a run from freeport all the way to halas i think it was. you can just imagine all these nekkid level ones running for dear life, it was so much fun. after that we all went to kelethin and drank as much alcohol and whoever made it up to the bank without falling off the tree gets a prize ah...good times lol.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-01 23:00:13 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, I had the book. I started in beta, actually. I had never gone any further from FP than out into the Commons, nor farther from Qeynos than the Hills, when I ran my level 6 barb warrior from Halas to FP. And I remember the recurring theme of gnome lawn darts trying to hit the PoD at Kelethin. I would run into the lift, and see about 30 gnome bodies scattered around him.
Yeah... lots of good times back then. Now.. why does it seem so long ago?

Kusar In reply to RainfeatherPearl [2007-01-03 05:35:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... yeah it does. Although I think time has at least stopped flying faster as the years go by for me. Or maybe it's just that I have more issues to deal with it just seems longer.
