ugh i started in march and finished last month...so like five months. O_o But I wasn't working on it vigorously each day...so really i would say maybe like 120-150 hours? that sounds about right. I adore your undergarment work, I wanted a wedding corset for my own . But I'm very excited to see your gown when you get further.

yikes! From your experience, can I get an opinion? I'm planning on having a really big bumroll/wheel farthingale, like the Ditchely portrait of Queen Elizabeth or the Portrait of a Young Lady, by Gheeraets. Do you think I need a regular farthingale to keep the skirt out away from my legs? I hope not, that will just extend the time for making everything.

and what I mean by , it doesn't look like they did, is that from the book, it looks like the either had the Spanish farthingale or the French wheel/large farthingale...not both. ^_^

mmm...In my opinion, If they had them, do it. The way you go about making the pieces don't have be historically accurate, but having each one should be. They were there for a reason..ahh..did they have them? I'm not sure. do you know? My focus is mainly about 10-20 years before yours..looking at Tudor Tailor by Ninya Mikhaila and Jane Malcolm-Davies, it doesn't look like they did...So then you should be perfectly fine not doing one.

I've only just started looking and so far the two I've found are quite good. I just wish my connection was faster so the photos didn't take 10 minutes to upload. Oh and I meant to mention too that your green gown design is really inspiring. I was thinking of doing something like that soon myself.

You are welcome to use the design if you want, I hadn't planned on making it myself. Just please credit me of course, or if you would like me to draw another out for you, I am always willing to do so. (I really love drawing them). But I know what you mean. Until I got out on my own, my internet was awful..family (rolls eyes). I finally found someone (my fiance) who uses the internet as much as I do and wanted to opp for faster service.

Oh neat, I'll keep it in mind as a reward for when I finish the list of outfits I need to actually finish. I'm so bad about that. I start them and never finish.

Really? You've seen pictures of my dress? That's so exciting! I see you are in Mad-town, have you ever been to Bristol? I am a performer there and it is oh so beautiful in person (I feel kind of bad saying it, but I am in love with my dress, it's true!)
