Aww, it's not that hard to make things. It's just a little dangerous [when making the sheep]. I had to use a band saw and a disc sander. Now those would give you BIG cuts.

A quick question about CGing: what do I do to put the line art in front of the coloring, so I won't color over the lineart?

On photoshop, you need to have the layers window open. Go under "layer" then "new layer" and click on "layer from background." Rename the layer with the lines something like lineart or lines. Then change the layer's setting from normal to multiply. It's pretty easy

Well, it's the holiday season. You could always ask for a printer/scanner. After all, besides a computer a printer is a necessary item for the young college student.
