Ah thank you, most appreciated! Well I wouldn't say that, I've taken a look at your profile and I must say we both lies in the same neighborhood. You got some real kick ass drawings/paintings and you also got a nice taste in music

Well, you probably have more ties to Scandinavian Mythology than I do, seeing as I'm from the Southern US, haha. It's just a fascination of mine, but probably your history. Thanks for your compliments on my artwork. I'm procrastinating on a drawing right now, though.

Yeah you can say that - it's not a religion for me, but it's a matter of keeping the old traditions and a matter of principles, against the violent and forced transition over to the Christian culture and religion. Also it's a interesting case, cause Scandinavian mythology contains alot of basic legends and recognizing history elements which you find in every mythology. So I wonder which one who started it all and where it came from. Some crazy historians says that Odin and Valhalla have existed, Odin was just a quite early and powerful chieftain who lived in north europe.
Hehe that's really cool - I got a half norwegian viking buddy in texas who is really into the viking culture, real fun. Lives in texas and got a name like Jakob Werenskiold, that's kick ass!
Sure thing, I'll get back to your gallery - looks real nice!

Sorry for the lateness of my reply. Started my summer courses back and have just been super busy.
And, well, I meant as you said. Your lineage directly ties you to Norse myths/culture. Not to say I don't love my own background of horsemen and gunslingers, haha. There's a lot of culture and mythology based art I'd like to get around to, but class assignments always take priority, sadly enough.

Hey no problem, I know how it is - been quite busy myself with exams and projects and hanging out with friends.
Yes ofcourse I understand that, and that's the special part of America, it's so amazingly full of culture and different people. Norway have started copying the American society, in some ways I dont mind - but at the same time I find it important to define and hold a priority on keeping the old traditional standard for visual communication and art.
I must say enjoy the way you include american nature and horses in your dark and creative style.
I know all about being held back by class assignments - they're often quite teaching and cool, but sometimes I start questioning our art teachers, since the stuff they want us to do is so random and simplistic.

Inferno-of-Fangs In reply to MoonScreamer [2009-06-19 14:03:17 +0000 UTC]
I hardly have much time to hang out with friends (the ones I don't go to college with/live with). I've got courses, now a job at my university, and I've started a workout regime to get in shape. Hurrah for being active, huh?
I'm actually quite shocked to hear you say something so positive in reference to the diversity of culture and people in the United States. Most Europeans I know cannot stand that fact and deem us on the contrary culture-less. I don't mean to lump you in with a general veiwpoint, but I think it's the first time I've heard what you've said from a Scandinavian, haha.
Well, I'm glad you want to keep traditions in your country. I do think people should have at least some degree of pride when it comes to their homeland, culture, and general ways.
Haha. Thanks for saying my art style is 'creative.' I'd really like to do some American Old West art depicting the more grim side, some day. I think I may either do that or something Norse for an assignment we have to have a theme for next semester. I really want to do something (don't know what) that entails Naglar.
Class assignments just get me down sometimes. I hate sculpture! Haha. I have realized that I am not a 3D artist. In my sculpture class we have to do everything by exact, proportional measurements and it's killing me. My teachers always have reasoning for the assignments we're given, but I really like them, anyway. They're just awesome people.

Yeah i know what you mean! I had such a period early this year - but it worked out when I started giving abit crap about school and concentrate on things that matter. Because school at this time didn't really match my interests, so I just did the stuff I had to do and started hanging more out with friends again, studying art and work out as well. Yes indeed - I love being active, go to the gym, walk into great woods, take a mountain trip, go out fishing etc.
Hehe yeah I can imagine. Most people outside America got this state of mind blinded by this kinda popular sense of meanings on culture and America. But I know you'll have to have a wider perspective and keep in mind that we're talking about a huge continent with plenty of different cultures and history. And this is for me plenty of reasons of finding America quite interesting.
Yeah I agree.. I'm not a nationalist or national-romantic in any ways, but I think it's important for the future generations to see what this specific area have done for culture, society and the history of materialism.
I think your art style is both creative and original. I see, that sounds really great!
I would like to see more of that.
Oh yes I know what you mean - I like to learn new ways making art and studying new styles etc - but when it comes to silly assignments that I don't need at all in the future.. that annoys. Hehe I had it the same way. I had a hard time making the sculpture symmetric hehe!

Hello again,
Yet again, apologies for my late, late, late reply! I've finally finished my summer semester and it just about killed me. I'm now in England waiting on Bloodstock, and having just came back from Paris.
Are you/have you going/went to any festivals this year? How's your summer?

Hey don't worry - been kinda busy myself, just moved to another city in Norway for studies.
Oh sounds great, nah - been mostly working trying to earn as much money I could, it's tough being a student I tell you. Atleast in the beginning. Otherwise my summer have been filled with beer, buddies, chicks, packing, nice weather, hot temperatures, fishing, swimming, mountain climbing, drawing and some music. Not much of a concert really, more like some friends playing for fun.

Oh no, you've deleted some of my favorite pics from your gallery.. : o I don't know how long time ago this has happened, but.. Well. It's sad anyway. Your gallery looks very good now though. I guess you've let your best works stay in your gallery (?).
Hm.. I guess it's good to clean up a little once in a while. : D

MetropolisProject In reply to MoonScreamer [2009-05-14 18:00:31 +0000 UTC]
I like athmospheric films. Dark City and the Crow (none of the dreadful sequels though), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, V for Vendetta but Metropolis has recently topped my list of all time favourites. Terminator 2 had that place up until then.
I've started a fan/revival project for Metropolis here (hence the name) and would like to invite you to join. We're very new. Less than a week. Scouting for worthy members.

Oh yes, atmospheric films - those you're mentioning are some of my favorites as well.
Along with city of lost children, house of 1000 corpses and Bram Stoker's Dracula from 92'!

I've only seen Dracula from that list. Rented house of 1000 corpses before and it didn't work so never got around to seeing it.
