Dappleleaf was pacing outside the camp, feeling her head full of the screams and all the terrible things. Like when she couldn't save the deputy from dying. She shook her head and ignored it, Dappleleaf just sat down and stared in the distance. Soon she felt stress, anxiety and who know what all crash down at the same time. She let out a cry and collapsed, crying into her paws, knowing it was her fault. Everyone felt the same way after all.

Sunpath chased after the squirrel, but after awhile, it scampered up into a tree. Still wary from how he heard the 'accident' had happened, he chose to stop chasing it. He sighed wearily and sat down right there, hanging his head in defeat. Now that he had somewhat recovered, the clan had thought it would be a good idea for him to start hunting and such again. But all of his injuries and his brain damage were not being very helpful to the situation. As he got up to try hunting again, he heard sniffling from not too far away. He immediately turned direction and ran towards it, surprised to see the white she-cat crying into her paws. However, him knowing her as a close friend, he felt even more inclined to help her, so he rushed to her side and awkwardly tried to make her meet his eyes. "Dapples? W-what's wrong?"

She shot up, the calico. Taking her paw and brushing off tears, forcing them not to fall. As much as it hurt, she wanted or get rid of all the
stress oh so badly. Her distraught eyes seemed distant as she looked into Sunpath's eyes. "I'm fine, it's just. I don't know..." Dappleleaf sighed relaxing her stance.

He raised one eyebrow at her as if to silently say 'Really?', but he never actually said a word. He had seen her crying, and could tell she still was distraught, so it was incredibly hard to even remotely believe her. He sighed and nudged her forehead with his nose warmly, trying to offer comfort. "You're obviously not fine." He mewed quietly to her. It made his heart hurt to see how stressed and depressed she looked, but he bit his lip and focused on consoling her. "What's wrong."

"It's just... Complicated I'm, I'm sorry." She drooped her head her eyes averting Sunpath's the stress in her chest felt like it was building every second. Her stance shook a bit before the calico just mumbled out. "I feel like i can't do anything, it's my fault you lost your memory, I'm sorry about everything. I know you forgive me but, it's, it's complicated."Β

Sunpath took a few steps closer to her, nudging her again and trying to get her to look at him. "You don't have to be sorry for anything. I know it wasn't your fault. Even if I can't remember, I do know others, and I know that you're not lying. There's no proof that you didn't do it, sure, but is there proof that you did?" He sighed. He was rather annoyed that nobody could tell how obvious it was that she wasn't lying about any of it, and were causing her this much distress. It was painful to see him this way.

The contact of skin just made her flinch slightly. She exhaled so it could be heard and turned up her head to the sky. Blinking up at it. Waving her tail and bit before smiling gently. Dappleleaf finally looked at the yellow tabby. Her eyes were wavering between all kinds of emotions. "Even, if you forgot me. I still feel like your the best friend I've got." She friendly put her paw on his.

He stared at her in shock for a few moments. The tabby couldn't seem to think of what to say in response. He only had those fuzzy memories of her that came to him in flashes, and even though he now trusted her and considered her one of his only and closest friends, he had never thought that she should think of him like that. He was a pretty awful friend at that even if she did, considering he couldn't remember her all that well and was still open about the fact that he didn't trust her for quite a while. Simply still wary from the accident and his memories, he immediately jerked hid paw away the second she touched him. He was hoping to not hurt her feelings so he quickly mewed "Thank you, I guess. You're the best friend I've got as well."

She put a paw to her chest and ran down the scar which was by now covered in fur. The calico shrugged and leaned back her shoulders, a relaxed smile on her face. Dappleleaf just talked carefully, it was like treading on ground that could snap beneath you any moment. "I know you feel guilty, but don't. We all make mistakes. I understand, even if you think I dont."

He looked over at her, his face suddenly blank and lacking emotion. He tilted his head at her as if sizing her up or maybe calculating her, but otherwise remained expressionless. Sunpath remained silent for a bit before finally opening his mouth. "I don't feel guilty. I made no mistake. I feel just fine, considering I can't remember it. Not that you're at fault." His voice was flat and as void of emotion as his face, blankly staring her in the eye. "There's one thing you seem to have never understood, and that's that I don't remember. Anything. Not you, not really."
