Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-02-25 11:46:53 +0000 UTC]

lol, the snow is all melted away now! and we are left with luke warm weather! My weekend was full of the usual drinking and being a geek by playing WoW. Did you get up to much?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-02-27 01:06:06 +0000 UTC]

What is WoW????? no,over the weekend i was pretty much preparing to start my visual arts course at tafe/uni on monday. So far it has been okay, i suppose it takes some getting used to a new routine all over again. Plus meeting new people and faces. I hope that this year goes smoothly for me because last year and the year before i had a few bumps in my personal life as i am sure most people do. Luke warm weather equals no more snow fights, snow men or snow angels. It also means that public transport works!!!Yay.lol

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-03-02 20:29:02 +0000 UTC]

WoW is World of Warcraft [link]

I hope this year goes well for you too! Are you excited about uni? How was your first day?? Luke warm weather does indeed mean smoother transport for me! I had a couple of snow ball fights in the snow but that's all over now

In other news, I'm currently in Germany!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-03-03 06:29:53 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh i know warcraft, i have a game entitled warcraft three and another game from warcraft as well. yay.lol. Well my first day at uni was okay, we basically sat around and listened to art teachers/lecturers introduce the course plus what we will be doing throughout the semester/term. It was no that exciting to begin with but now that i am getting into it i am really enjoying it!!!
Wow and i mean wow...germany is one of the many millions of places i would love to visit!! What is it like??? When, why and how long are you there for??lol. sorry about all of the questions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-03-04 15:18:00 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad that you are enjoying it!

Germany is frigging amazing and I would quite happily live here! The view from my hotel room is overlooking the local town of Waldachtal and you can see the black forest covering the hills/mountains in the distance. I am here for work and product/product management training, just part of the perks of my job. I think this is the 5th time I have been to Germany, I will probably come here at least 2 more times this year!

The only bad part is that although I arrived Sunday so I have been here a few days but my plane leaves at 11:15am tomorrow

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-03-07 04:31:57 +0000 UTC]

What is the weather like over there??? It is a pitty that you couldn't stay for a little longer but maybe next time plan to go a little bit earlier (before the business trips starts). Silly question but do you know how to speak a bit of german?? I think that the first word i learnt in german was a swearword (schizen house)lol. Hope that you enjoyed your trip anyway

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-03-19 22:16:33 +0000 UTC]

In the delay it took me to respond to this message, the weather in Germany was cold! We went up far into the mountains one day and the snow after a week of them not having it was still over 3 foot high!! I have never seen that much snow in my life! I think next time I go to Germany I will make it a longer trip

I do know how to speak minor German, enough to orer drinks and such and enough to tell people I can't speak German

I really did enjoy my trip to Germany, I go there about 4 times a year and enjoy it every time! Especially when I go to meet up with out international marketing department mainly because they are great fun, they get me drunk, then they make me dance... and then record it and send it around the company for all to see

What's going on with you at the moment? Anything exciting happening?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-03-20 01:05:42 +0000 UTC]

lol. Successful Business trips for you must contain alcohol, dancing, snowing and making a complete fool or yourself.Which i do a lot when i am drunk and therefore, probably best not to get drunk.lol. I remember the first time i saw snow, i was on school bus just outside a ski resort. The snow was beautiful but the aromas from inside the bus were not that pleasant.lol.
Well at the moment i am trying to finish a project due today, so a little bit panicked. Other than that i have a annoying cold. What about you??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-03-20 15:17:57 +0000 UTC]

You've got my business trips down to a tee! You act like a fool whilst drunk eh...? I think it's about time we met up in Germany and got drunk together! we can just dance like idiots and drink great beer!

What are you having to do for this project? anything good?

I hope you feel better soon! I'm not doing too badly as we actually have glorious sunshine at the moment so I am planning to get outside tomorrow, maybe go for a bike ride somewhere and also, it's mothers on Sunday and my mum lives by the beach! So hopefully a nice weekend ahead.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-03-21 02:15:14 +0000 UTC]

Lol. I think we should defiantly plan that trip in advance!!! Maybe in the month of october ie october fest...the beer mugs are enormous!!!

For the project, i have to design my own studio which is a darkroom/photography studio.Have you ever worked in a darkroom before. I know that at most uni's darkrooms are slowly but shortly diapering because they find digital printing produces the same effect or just as good.
Have a lovely mothers day btw, i dont know when ours will be over here but i believe it is soon or maybe it has passed. The beach is an awesome place, lots of sunshine, sand, ocean and seagulls.
Have a nice weekend end!!

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-03-25 11:42:14 +0000 UTC]

I would absolutely love to go to October fest!!!

I have indeed worked in a darkroom before... I's like training yourself to be blind! Quite an experience Sounds very interesting though, getting to design your own studio!

Mothers day turned out to be pretty standard but it was a nice sunny day at the beach!

Did you have a nice weekend?

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-03-26 05:23:59 +0000 UTC]

My dad went to the october fest when he was living there, didnt have much to say about it and i think that i know why...lol. I know, it is so hard the first time you step into a dark room..incredibly disorientated and the fumes from the chemicals(although not harmful) are enough to drive you insane.lol.
My weekend.. i went to the Victorian market which is literally over here, bargain galore. scarves, hats, clothing, shoes, toys, jewelery and anything you could possibly think of is there. Well worth the money and time if you ever decide to come to australia.
hope that you are well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-04-01 15:09:15 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I'm intruiged as to why your dad never said much about October fest? I do love going into dark rooms just because you lose all spacial awareness

Bargain galore sounds like a womans dream place I would love to come to Australia some day and I will do my best to remember the Victorian Markets!

I hope you're having a good week so far!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-04-02 09:02:34 +0000 UTC]

Yes, dark rooms have a special power to delude your senses. I remember..back in the day, walking into a darkroom and your eyes start to adjust to the difference in light. As i am navigating around the room, i bump into a few chairs/people(not quite sure because it was pitch black lol)walked into a few walls and doors as well. All in all i learnt to be very cautious in the darkroom. lol.
Do you have any business trips planned to germany or somewhere else???

thanks i have had a awesome week so far and the work load is slowly increasing. How about you, how has your week been?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ice-11 In reply to Natrock90 [2009-04-02 22:23:57 +0000 UTC]

lol, maybe walk around with a white cane to help you out?? as it's the same as being blind!

Urm.. business travels, I will alomost certainly travel to Germany at least once more this year if not 2, 3, 4 times more... there's a little bit of talk of actually doing an exchange between myself and a german student so that they can come here for a few months and learn the amrket and I can go over to Germany and learn how they do things over there, which would be very interesting!!

An increasing workly is good... but can also be bad I suppose it all depends on the work that you have to do!

My week so far hasn't been too bad, just trying to keep on top of work at the moment! Due to the current economic crisis everyone seems to be very stressed and ~I'm trying to avoid that pitful and just get on with my job but as always people are worried about being made redundant and such which doesn't really help moral especially as I work for a company that has been hit hard by the crisis as we are directly linked to the housing industry. I'm lucky in a sense though as I'm on what they are calling the "safe list" which means I won't be made redundant any time soon! many other people will go before I do

I'm now just tucked up in bed, replying to some messages and then getting some sleep to get ready for another day!

Do you have any nice plans for the weekend?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Natrock90 In reply to Ice-11 [2009-04-03 09:08:35 +0000 UTC]

Wow,the economic crisis is only hitting us now. It sucks because i am getting hardly any work so i am saving my money as much as possible. Stupid America!!! lol. I wish you the best in all of this and i hope that none of your friends are effected by it. I am glad that you are at least a little bit safe because you dont want to lose a job in these hard times.

I dont have any nice plans except to travel into the city on saturday and on sunday i will be strapping down for some overdue homework.lol

So when might you be exchanging with the other student??
