# About me
To me, Nature is god. Without it, we simply would not exist. Conserving the world’s natural spaces and the creatures that live there is paramount to the survival of humans as a species, and I have therefore dedicated my life to studying environmentalism in order to help people co-exist more successfully and sustainably with the natural world. All natural materials I use in my creations are either sourced from roadkill, Fish and Wildlife, or are antique. In this way, I'm ensuring that no animals were needlessly killed for the sake of the artwork I produce. I fully believe that no part of any creature should go to waste if a purpose can be found for it, but I do NOT support trophy hunters or overseas fur farms by buying 'byproducts' like bones, skulls, or claws directly from them. The only exception I make for this rule is for parts from animals legally culled for population control programs approved by Fish and Wildlife.
As a photographer and wildlife enthusiast, I've been involved with many fantastic organizations such as Images4Life and Wild Tiger, as well as the Sierra Club and many smaller, local groups.
I've been published, interviewed, and even featured on Rainn Wilson (Dwight from “The Office”)'s personal networking website, SoulPancake.com.
I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to visit many of the world’s most amazing wild places, like Komodo Island, Bali, Lombok, Malaysia, and the Cayman Islands, and have even documented entirely new species previously unknown to science.
You may know me from Etsy or perhaps recognize my photographs from Flickr. I've been on the fence about getting a DeviantArt account for a while, and I don't know how often I'll make use of it, so if I don't reply to your messages or comments, don't feel bad - I'm probably romping around out in the woods.

Beautiful gallery. I agree with what you believe, too. I always thought the reason for our existence isn't to destroy, but instead better help the earth grow against all odds. (unfortunately most of those odds being us)
Anyways, beautiful art!! Can't wait to see more!

Excuse me, I was wondering what the laws are for wolf hides in England and California. I was browsing through the laws for wolf pelts in England and they were unclear, I have a cousin in California that is wondering the same thing. Thank you, and I love your work!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
NaturePunk In reply to Icefire11 [2013-05-20 06:25:38 +0000 UTC]
I have no idea what laws are internationally, but I know that in California, wolves can be purchased from outside states and kept legally for personal use only. They may NOT be sold within the state of California and may NOT be purchased there. Sale also means that the item cannot be traded for goods or services. Hope this helps!

Excuse me, but I have one more question. My cousin was wondering what the laws are for cougars and bears in California. Thank you for your assistance~

NaturePunk In reply to Icefire11 [2013-05-20 18:01:10 +0000 UTC]
As far as I know, cougars and bears are not allowed to be owned, even for personal use, in California unless they already existed in the state before the ban and were 'grandfathered' in.

Hi there!
FIrst off your gallery is amaing, i love it. Your work is gorgeous and wow!
I was wondering; do you tan pelts? If you do, do you use certain methods? I have tanned a few in the past year and unfortunately they have fallen short of my expectations. Sorry to bother!!

I dunno if you look at Hide and Fur's inventory ever, but they just got in a bunch of new coyote pelts--lots of Eastern ones, which I've never seen them get before--and several of them have that brown and black pattern you mentioned being very appealing to you.
I didn't find any under their "taxidermy quality" category, but they have a lot under the regular one. I'm not 100% clear on what makes a pelt unmountable, but maybe one of them might be something you could work with.
Anyway, here's the link: [link]
Just saw the bunch of them and remembered how you'd been looking for a pelt like that for yourself.

Thanks! I actually just snagged a couple pelts from them that I've posted in the gallery. They're stunning. Eastern Coyotes are my favorite.

Oh, whoops! I did see those, but totally read the description wrong. (I thought those were pelts a customer was sending to you to work on.) But I do agree--the Eastern ones can have some absolutely amazing coloration!

Hey, I'm just wondering how do you protect pelts from insect damage?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
NaturePunk In reply to concaholic [2013-04-01 01:09:29 +0000 UTC]
I keep my pelts hung on a wall in a clean, dry, temperature-controlled room. I haven't ever had an issue with insects.

Hello! I'm a student studying mammalogy and in my spare time I'd like to pick up taxidermy. I really support and respect your style of collecting animals for the trade and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a beginner?

No problem, it's a busy world out there. Setting up a listing on Etsy would be great!
I am going to have my brushes on display in a gallery I believe in September. I have been trying to gather exotic materials to build some really fine brushes for showing off at that event. If you can come up with any material that would make a crazy cool looking brush let me know I will be interested.
