hi there
just wanted to let you know, I did the Christmas penguin pattern, it came out great! soon as I can figure out how to get a pic uploaded I'll send it over. it took me two days off and on bingewatching cooking shows ;-D I'm thinking later I'll do another one only making his scarf and hat blue. But I'm penguin-ed out for a while
thank you so much for a fun pattern. Have an excellent new Β year!

You are very welcome! Glad you enjoyed. I'd love to see it when you get pics.
And interestingly enough, I originally did the scarf and hat in blue, before I changed it to a Christmas design! I used 798-799 in place of the green.
Happy New Year to you too!

Thank you so much for the feature!! I'm glad you enjoy my patterns so much!
Just FYI, I have been designing professionally for over 20 years now, including a 10-year stint as Design Director for Jeanette Crews Publishing. You can see my professional designs and adaptations almost monthly in Cross Stitch and Needlework and Just Cross Stitch magazines (an adaptation I did is on the front cover of the current Halloween special issue of JCS, along with several small designs inside) as well as the Cross Stitch Christmas annual and Keepsake Calendar from CS&N. (Working on some projects for them both right now, in fact.) Once my many current personal crises have calmed down, I am hoping to reopen my Etsy shop and put some of my original designs on sale there as well. I'll keep you posted on that.
Thank you again!!

You're super welcome. That's quite the resume you have put together! I just mentioned the JCS in my post because that's the only magazine I used to subscribe to. I had to stop because I can't afford it, so I'm missing out on so many of your pretty designs now.

Don't blame you. I couldn't afford it myself if I didn't get contributor's copies!

I finished my cross stitch of your pattern. I did miss count in a few places in the rose and had to fudge it a little to fix it but I think it looks pretty good overall. I linked to you in my post. Thank you so much for all of your help with getting it to print right for me!

I also posted it on Jacqueline Carey's Facebook page and she reshared it so everyone who follows her on Facebook could see it!!! You might have a flood of new people coming for the pattern as I woke up and a lot of people had found the pattern here and said they were interested in making it.

Very nice art and craft work. How do you make your cross stitch patterns? Is it a computer program?
π: 0 β©: 1
NevaSirenda In reply to jijikit [2013-03-11 01:40:17 +0000 UTC]
I usually use either Patternmaker or CrossStitchPro, which are the two I use most for my professional work. Most of the patterns I post here are done with CSP because it allows me to take a "photo" of the chart and design right from the screen and it's easy to put them together in Photoshop. PM is a little more complicated to do that with and the result doesn't look as realistic. But all of my patterns are hand-drawn on the screen, I don't import anything except as a template.
