BTW ive been trying to use the dodge tool for my PIRL's, but i seem to keep running into problems with it. Either it works too well even at 1 opacity and erases part's like the mouth, nose line, hair lines, etc, or it has no effect whatsoever. Any tips on what i might be doing wrong with it?

I'd love to be able to use it after seeing what you have been able to.

you are talking about the photoshop dodge tool? ah. well, part of it depends on what range is first of all. for the dodge tool, midtones are really the only range you should have set, as highlights and shadows both cause the image to look less realistic and cause strange lighting changes as well. also, yes, the dodge tool at high exposure percentages does make it very bright, however 1% exposure should not create hardly any change to the image. though really it depends on what how bright you want the lighting on the ponies to be like. the dodge and burn tools are based on how light or dark the pixels you are painting on are. the closer they are to the range you have selescted, the less they make a difference change.

Well it's the Gimp one technically but as Gimp is supposedly a free version of Photoshop they should be similar. I'll try making sure midtones is selected next time and see if that helps, and note you if i still have issues.
