Well the 1st convention I went to for 2011 was in Connecticut. It was a pretty nice, chill con with me & some friends I knew that stayed in a hotel for the weekend(actually it was this recent weekend).

As far as cosplaying goes, I somewhat know how to sew by hand, but also make some props. Was supposed to cosplay as deadmau5 for that weekend but wasn't able to finish in time & saving it for March for a local small con in NYC.
