Ahh, I have been using Crayola for many many years.. comes with practice and you develope a technique after many years. The other fact is how you hold and move your pencils. It's not really about the pencil. In some cases it is- cheap $2 pens and pencils have a lowe resistance to hard pressing or sharpening...and break easier than a good pencil. I colour with what I have but never have coloured with cheap products after I was about 5
