Yes, books in the middle of being written tend to slip out of your hands to be forgotten for a while underneath a layer of dust. I read your first chapter, and I enjoyed the descriptions and emotions that you put into it. I could actually picture a writing like that being published, but writing novels really are more challenging then they first seem to be. Good luck!
