Hi!~

I am an aspiring plushie-maker, and since I absolutely LOVED your Ukitake plush, I was wondering if you could answer a few questions?

1. What kind of fabric did you use to make it? (Like clothes, hair, eyes, body, ect.)

2. Did you use standard pillow stuffing or some other type of material to fill it?

3. Did you have any type of cut-outs or bases that you used to cut the pieces for each part? (Or are you just that good? ) If you didn't, would you mind telling me the measurements you used for the body/head/arms/legs/ect? (If it's not a bother )

Thank you very much for your help, and if you have any further advice, I'd love to hear it! Like I said, your Ukitake plush is AMAZING, especially being your first one!

hi there!

I would love to help you out! ~^^

so for the body I used flannel. for his hair I used fleece (because I wanted him to be extra cuddly!) and for the clothes I just used regular fabric. I'm not sure what it's called... it's really generic. and super cheap too! the eyes are a piece of cake. just get regular paint brushes and acrylic paint. I didn't get anything fancy, actually, I bought the brushes and paint at wal-mart.

the stuffing is called polyester filler. I also got that at wal-mart. it's like... dirt cheap. I was able to get a huge bag for $3 bucks!

for the pattern, I actually had to make my own. I used *pheleon 's pattern tutorials to help though. I would just scan my pattern for you, but I don't have a scanner I can use right away. I can still give you the measurements though! ^^~

his whole length is "12in. his head is about "in. and his body about "7in. (I didn't measure exactly when I made the pattern, I just tried to make him somewhat close to "12in. ummm, now for his arms, legs, and body... I honestly think that's a preference thing. it depends on how big you want them, how small, etc. they don't really even have to be proportionate. (if you're wanting to make a chibi plush.) I really wish I could scan my pattern, because there are a few things it took me a few failed attempts to figure out. I can tell you, no plushie (even with the same pattern) turns out being the same exact size. I'm working on a toshirou plush now, in fact, he's almost done! his legs are a bit longer than ukki's.

here are just a few tips that could help!

1. make the body in these pieces: legs, arms, body, feet. (all separate, then sewn together.)

2. when making the body, make them two separate pieces (top and bottom) make the bottom bigger than the top. (so when you sew them together, the size doesn't shrink.)

3. practice with scarp fabric! once you get the hang of things, go ahead and start the real thing!

4. *pheleon 's tutorials work like MAGIC! I love her tuts!

5. if you go through my favorites, I have several plushie tutorials added. I probably used them all, and they're all very useful!

I know most of that wasn't any help... I'm not a very good teacher...
