I was thinking lothiriel would go into labor and be losing blood, and that Saph and Thurin would have to find a special plant that could help or something. Then I realize that would be kinda gross and perhaps a bit impossible, since lothy could die by the time they return AH WELL I could make it not about her labor and perhaps she just gets sick or something

OK STARTING NOW *cracks knuckles*

It was noon in Edoras. No clouds were in sight as the sun beat down upon the residents of the capital city of Rohan. The villagers went about their day in the places below the Golden Hall. Where one, auburn haired girl stood upon the terrace. The hot wind playing with her skirts and hair. She let out a frustrated sigh as a breeze made a lock of her hair slap against her face, quickly swiping it away with a hand.

Sapharwyn strained to see over the hay thatched roofs into the valley plains beyond.

Visitors were anticipated.

Visitors she had been looking forward to meeting again. If they had indeed gone on this trip.

Eomer had informed her that a host from Gondor were coming to visit for awhile.
She didn't know who was in the party of their southern allies, but she hoped once person was going to be there.
She missed the friend she had made back in her stay in Gondor. The blonde haired Thurin. Adoptive son of the Mighty Boromir.

She put a hand over her eyes to shield them from the sun, a spark of excitement burst in her heart when she thought she could make out a small dust cloud in the distance. Could it be?...

oooh yeah, a simple sickness in a puerperal is common and less tragic (?)
help me with this, since last time i was thinking one of then should stay and since aragorn is the king i thought it was reasonable that he should go, so boromir would stay, but it could be otherwise, or could be them three sorry im bad taking this kind of decisions i need a second opinion //hit but now that i reread this probably aragorn would be more helpful to heal her

A loudly groan echoed between the clinging of horseshoes, banners and armors. Some horses glanced in the direction of the voice. It had came from the youngest of the host, his face looked extremely annoyed and uncomfortable. His horse was tied by the neck to the King's horse, Brego. At first it had been a security mesure to prevent that Feoer and Thurin got separated from the host. Now it kept Feoer walking due to its stubborn need to over rest.

They have been travelling for few days, Thurin didnt remember, he forgot about it when he started to feel uncomfortable and a bit sore.

When he first heard about the trip, he was determinated to go. He made the best efforts to behave "extremely well" as the servants have joked about and some even mentioned he could be feverish. It had been hard to repress his mischievous instincts but It had worth it the first day he was in the road.
Now he just wanted to lay in a soft bed and some of Nina's traits.... He really missed Nina.

Thurin saw the King looking at him askance and the boy asked the illegal question.

"Are we there yet?" He couldnt help to pout. He knew the question exasperated the king, and as he had realized lately, most of the host too.

"We should be... just a couple of hours far" Aragorn managed to reply in a soft voice, looking at the the distance looking for any glimpse of the Golden Hall. He looked around and recognized some familiar landscapes. The forms of the mountains at the distance, the terrain, there was a hill in front of them and suddenly he smiled. "Actually..." He made Brego trot faster and Feoer reacted, following him. The host seemed to awake aswell and ran behind them.

On the top of the hill they could finally see, little but surely, the Golden Hall and Edoras. Thurin seemed to forget all the discomfort.

"Finally!" The boy whooped. Though he couldnt see the city clearly yet, the excitement grew inside him. "Let's sprint, let's sprint!"

(Aww haha Well I wouldn't mind all three of them coming along But yeah since Aragorn is an expert healer he should definitely be there lmao)

-----

Sapharwyn stood a while more on the terrace of The Golden Hall as she watched the dust cloud come closer. An eored? Or the
party from Gondor? A flash of dark blue caught her eye amidst the cloud.
Gondor for sure. Since when did the rohirrim carry blue banners with them?

"They're here!" She shouted in excitement, hiking up her skirts and running towards the door. Nearly startling a poor door guard with her shrill voice.
"They're here!" She shouted again at her adoptive father and his counsel men.

"Well, let's not stand around then. We shall greet them at the gates." Eomer stated.
The King beckoned the Royal guard to to come with him to the stables.

Eomer didn't bother to ask his daughter if she would come. Of course she would. Sapharwyn was always eager when visitors arrived.

---

It only took a few minutes to tack up and ride down toward the city gates. There, the Rohirric party rode out to meet the Gondoiran embassy.

Maybe Boromir can appear later if he's needed to //hit deus ex machina
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thurin looked at the majesty of Edoras. It seemed very little from the distance and he felt a little discouraged but it was still a great excitement to be there. As the host got closer, Thurin was awed by the great mountain, the walls, buildings and the Golden Hall on the top. The huge mountains in the background looked like a strongfold for Rohan.

He remembered about the beacons and felt a shiver down his spine. How many times he had asked the King about the beacons and how he saw them lit in this place.

Aragorn smiled a little at the sight of the Rohirrim riding towards them to greet the host. He saw Eomer leading the men and a young girl next to him. "Look who is here to greet us" The king looked at Thurin, who didn't show any sign of tiredness now, he was eager and smiling.

"Sapharwyn!!" He wanted to wave at her with both arms, but there were so many men around and probably that was going to become formal greeting and... the old protocol again. He hoped not though, but he still could greet Saph later at the time they were settled in the city. He wondered what kind of things they could do in Edoras, what places Saph could show him and maybe he could even find some treasures.

Soon Aragorn met Eomer he clasped his hand and have him a tight hug still on his horse. Brego relaxed and raised his head suddenly like he wanted to join to the greeting too.

Feoer felt a little intimidated between the horses all suden and started to move back. Thurin tried to calm him to get closer at the King of Rohan too and greet him as he deserved, giving Saph a big smile before.

The king of the Riddermark returned Aragorn's embrace heartily.

"Lothiriel sends her apologies that she could not come out to greet you. She's gotten so big that she fears she'd break the horses back." He snorted in amusement.
Hazel eyes scanned the men that had come with their king, settling down at last on a boy with smalt blue
eyes. Ah, so the boy who had befriended his daughter had come along.

The king then noticed his cousins horse, now Aragorns horse, Brego, looking eagerly at him, and he chuckled. The blonde haired man reached out a hand to gently pat the steeds nose, feeling a tiny pang of loss for his cousin.

"Theodred would be glad to know his horse is being well taken cared of." He smiled at Aragorn.

Sapharwyn turned her attention away from the two monarchs. Focusing on thurin again.
A quiet laugh escaped her as she noted the boy's steed looking antsy.
Her own palamino steed, Ayslynn, whickered to Feoer in greeting as Saph waved her hand at Thurin.
"Hi!" she whispered loudy. Hoping he could hear her as the men talked.

"We'll prepare a feast for you and your entourage tonight." The kings deep voice suddenly boomed.
Eomer spurred his mount as he and his guards trotted back up the slope, beckoning for the Gondorians to follow.

Aragorn stifled a laugh at the excuse of Lothiriel absence and looked for the young maiden to greet her as well, he saw Sapharwin exchanging some words with Thurin. Maybe he could greet her properly later, more comfortable. He was tired, though he didn't show it, his back felt tense and it was time to stay longer with the feet on the ground rather than riding.

"Feast! Finally!" Thurin clasped his hand in anticipation. He missed the fresh food, a proper table and enough food to choose.

Aragorn looked at him almost as a rebuke. He was expecting the boy to behave politely, though he shared his opinion. A feast and a comfortable chair to rest after the long trip was what he wanted most. Before he could make a comment, a memory flashed in front of his eyes. "Don't be so excited, remember about Rohan's culinary specialty" He whispered at the boy, making sure Thurin was the only who could hear him as they troted behind the rohirrim.

The boy looked at him curious and suddenly paled. "Are we going to eat Lady Eowyn's... stew?" He whispered back. The King had mentioned it a few times before in some dinners, Thurin always found the story funny and wondered if it really tasted like the King described or if he was just fussy.

The king chuckled and patted Brego's neck. "You still remember that story, don't you?"

"I couldn't forget it now that you mention it" The boy shuddered, suddenly thinking about Rohan's culinary traditions.

"Well... maybe I can tell her you're eager to eat some if you don't behave as you promised" He was half joking, half serious. "Or I could tell Boromir so he would be sure to make her know"

"You wouldn't do that, would you!?" Thurin looked at him with disbelief but then chuckled. "Maybe that's the reason you're whispering in the first place" He glanced at Eomer with a threatening smile.

Aragorn frowned and shushed at the kid. Both chuckled and relaxed. After all it was nice to have the boy around, a little of joy between the seriousness of the host.

(LOLOL I think they're in luck though Perhaps Eowyn is still with Faramir in Ithillien or something. But who knows she might show up 8D)

------------

Eomer took the lead in front of the company as they passed the gates.
By this time news had spread that the king of Gondor had arrived, and the denizens of
Edoras gathered on both sides of the path to the Golden Hall to pay tribute to their heroes
by cheering and clapping. Sapharwyn took her place at the back of the rohirrim company, glancing around as they walked.
A snort of half derision, half amusement, came from her as the girl observed the women folk gawking at the two monarchs.
Despite being married, young girls still tried to catch their kings attention by directly greeting him, or by throwing a flower
or two at his steed's hooves.

But it wasn't just Eomer they were swooning over.
As the King of Rohan passed, they turned their attention to Elessar, clapping and waving more vigorously.
Their antics made Sapharwyn chuckle. But the novelty of the young womens fawning wore off as she glanced back at Thurin
and King Aragorn, whom were whispering quietly to themselves. The urge to eavesdrop to great, she strained her ears to try and
pick up what they were saying. It proved impossible to make out over the din of the crowd, but Saph could have sworn she heard
Eowyn someone in there.

The entourage had made it to the top of the hill, and stableboys came out in drives to attend to the horses.
The eorling looked up at Meduseuld, green eyes widening to see a heavily pregnant Lothiriel standing on the terrace.
She turned to Thurin and nudged his arm with her elbow. "There's the Queen." She pointed out.
The view from the top of the Hill was breath-taking. From her one could see the vast plains to the south, and to the west, the majesty of the White mountains.
"Sapharwyn raised her eyebrow, a curious glint in her eye.
"well, what do you think?" She asked Thurin. "Is it as you imagined?"

Yeah that's why Aragorn threatened him about telling Boromir, so he would gossip Faramir and he would... joke on Eowyn //hit
--------------------------------------------------

It felt wonderful having the feet on the hard ground again, Thurin thought with relief. He promised he wouldn't sit in Feoer's back again at least for a day, and he wasn't probably the only one thinking about that. He saw the other men rubbing their own backs and stretching once they were on the ground too. Leaving his horse attended by the stableboys, Thurin relaxed and looked around this new place.

He had missed a little the sight of the road to there while talking to the King, but he didn't mind. He would have time to see the streets later, when less people were around. Thurin had felt a little uncomfortable under the sight of the citizens. A nudge in his arm made the boy look at what Sapharwyn was talking about... or whom.

"Woah..." Thurin whispered at the sight of the Queen. Lothiriel was beautiful at his eyes; even that huge tummy gave her a beauty Thurin had barely seen before in adult women, the beauty of a mother. "She's really pretty" He said, longingly.

Aragorn walked towards her to greet the Queen as it was proper. Thurin took the instance before greeting the woman to look around. The White Mountains left him breathless for a second. Everything was indeed a completly different view from the one he had in his beloved city, and this new places seemed intriguing to him; he couldn't wait to explore them. "Saph... this is amazing, in a way I can't explain yet but... woah"

The boy closed his eyes and breathed deeply, feeling the hot wind hitting his face. Then he turned again to Lothiriel and Aragorn; the last one made a gesture with his hand to invite the boy closer. Thurin obeyed as he overheard the King introducing him to her.

"..." Thurin felt silent all of sudden and Aragorn looked at him puzzled.

The king coughed. "Aren't you going to say anything to her?" He patted Thurin on his shoulder.

Thurin looked at him and then back to Lothiriel. Then back to Saph and Eomer, as he grew more nervous feeling everyone's glancing over him. "I..."

--------------------------------------------------------

Whoops Thurin suddenly had public panic //hit
He's actually not good introducing himself to adults, now even less without Boromir around XD

LOL poor eowyn and everyone. Her famous stew is legendary among our heroes xD.
------------------------------------------

Sapharwyn chuckled quietly as Thurin gazed at the queen.
Whom was now greeting her worried husband and trying to assure him she was fine and
that the size of her belly wouldn't make her topple off the edge of the stone terrace.
"I agree. That's partly what drew my father to her." She laughed. Lothiriel had been the envy of almost all women in edoras. There was an elven grace and aura about her. Not surprising as elvish blood was suspected to run in her family.

Sapharwyn climbed the steps with Thurin to greet the Queen. Lothriel, unable to curtsey,
placed her hand upon Aragorns broad shoulder in greeting instead.

Saph turned her attention back to the boy beside her. Trying to fight down a feeling of pride at her homeland.
But it couldn't really be helped. "Isn't it? The top of the Hill is the perfect place to watch the Sunrises."

As they neared the royal heroes, Sapharwyn stepped back a bit to allow Thurin to greet The Queen.
Poor Thurin. She observed. He looked at lost for words in front of Lothiriel. Eomer's eyes glinted with
mirth, much as he tried to hide it. Lothiriel looked slightly amused herself, but she was sympathetic.

Sapharwyn encouraged her friend with a nod as he turned to look back at her.

The Princess from Dol Amroth decided it was she who would break the ice.
"You must be Thurin, correct? Sapharwyn has told me of you. You and Aragorn, as well as the rest of your men,
are more than welcome in our home." She greeted Thurin, lightly taking his hand and shaking it.

"You forgot to mention the trouble they got into as well." Eomer muttered, only to have his wife nudge him sharply in the ribs.

Trying not to sqeak with pain, Eomer gestured them briskly into the doorway.

I laughed so hard with Saph startling the guard few replies ago
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thurin flushed at the thought that everyone would be laughing at him because that and nearly panicked. What kind of... royal was he going to be If he couldn't great anyone. He felt a cold sweat on the back of his neck until he felt a soft hand taking his. Lothiriel was breaking the ice, thankfully!

"Aye..." He nodded and then smiled more confident "Your hospitality is very grateful, my lady, I hope your house shall be blessed" He quickly glanced at Aragorn, who nodded. There. He did it, the panic was gone.

Until Eomer mentioned the incident in Minas Tirith when they had visited. Thurin felt it like a punch in the stomach, or more like the nudge Lothiriel gave her husband in the ribs. Thurin chuckled and went back with Saph as they walked in.

"When is your sibling going to be born?" He asked curious. Thurin thought they would get to see the baby but on the other hand he didn't had any experience with them. At least not with newborns. "Are you going to show me the palace? Can you wake me up to watch the sunrise? Are we going anywhere tomorrow?" He hurried the questions, excited again, almost forgetting completly the incident with Lothiriel, or probably because he was still nervous about that

Sometimes Thurin would talk and talk when he got nervous. His stomach growled, reminding him about the feast. He felt the desire to ask Sapharwyn about the food, but that would have been disrespectful.

ROFL She has a shrill voice xD And srry for reply so late it was a busy day yesterday ;_;

---------------

Sapharwyn managed to turn red in the face at the mention of the little incident with the orcs
she and Thurin had encountered while Rohan's stay in Gondor.
Thankfully, the subject seemed to drop as Eomer escorted them to the Hall.

Sapharwyn listened to Thurin as he spouted off questions to her. Trying not to laugh and roll her eyes.
The Eorling put her hands up, waving them. "Whoa! I can see you're excited to be here!"
She giggled, giving Thurin's shoulder a little pat. She was truly glad e was interested in Rohan though.
She had figured out that many Gondorians seemed to think of Rohan as...Barbaric and unsanitary.
Which of course, was far from the truth. Still, many of the nobles from Gondor couldn't fathom
staying in Rohan for a night even. She was glad Thurin didn't seemed repulsed by their quaint looking dwellings.

They had entered through the great doorways. The Feast Hall looked mostly empty, apart from a few servants and
counsel men who stared at the royal party with unabashed awe.

Lothiriel prepared to show Aragorn and his guard their chambers for the nights, while Eomer strode toward the two children.
"I'm sure Thurin would be interested in exploring Edoras while we prepare for the feast." He winked at Sapharwyn.
Then moved his hand over to Thurin's head to ruffle his blonde hair.

Sapharwyn nodded in excitment, grabbing Thurin's hand and showing him out the dorrway again.
Of course the first place a Rohir would show a foreigner would be the stables...

Same here today, I spent my day with a friend I only can see once or twice a year XD
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thurin wished he was an owl to see everything around him. He had to admit Rohan was... more little than Minas Tirith but he was still amazed. He loved exploring new places, and it made him think that probably Minas Tirith was exaggeratedly big, but he loved his city anyway. Pretty much as his father and the King did.
He was suddenly pulled off his thought by Eomer's voice, the feast had to wait yet but exploring Edoras sounded good enough to resist the hunger a little longer.

Thurin looked at the rohir when he ruffled his hair, a little surprised, but replied him with a big grin. Then he was suddenly dragged by Sapharwyn outside.

"Were are we going first?" Thurin asked excited before realizing the stables ahead, of course, it was a fool question. "Now we have switched roles" He chuckled, remembering how he had showed some places in Minas Tirith to Saph before. "How many horses do you keep here?" He asked, thinking in random numbers in his head, they had many in his city's stables, at least in the citadel. And probably more in other smaller stables down the levels of the White city.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ohh I'm glad you got to see your friend! ^.^

--------------------------------------

Sapharwyn points to four, spacious looking wooden structures a little ways away from the Hall itself.
Two in front, and in back. "Where else? The stables!" She laughs, beckoning Thurin to follow.
The rohir gives a huff of amusement at the Gondorians comment.

"Seems to me we have. I'll be glad to show you around...It's...Not to much. But it's home."
She shrugs non nonchalantly.

At his next question, Sapharwyn thinks for a moment.
"I'm not sure of the exact number. We certainly don't have every horse in Rohan here.
But i can guess at least five hundred."

She gestures to the four stable buildings ahead. Almost as tall as Meduseld itself.

"The house of Eorl keep their steeds in one of these four stables near the top of Edoras. Same
with the King's Guard and other high ranking soilders who dwell here.
Other horses either live in smaller stables throughout the city, or in pens for our peasant folk. "

She leads the boy around to the entrance of the first on the left. The doors are
already open. Men and some woman either putting away tack, rubbing down the steeds, or
filling the mangers with hay.

Saph walks down the hall of the stable, indicating Firefoot's stall with a hand.
The big grey has it's back to them, but senses the presence of two beings watching it.
He turns his head around, giving the two children a whuff before munching on some hay.

Sapharwyn snorts. "Sorry, he's not in the mood for more company I guess. Come over here."

The girl walks with an excited skip in her step as she comes to the very last stall.
There a beautiful white horse with flecks of grey, and a silver mane and tail, turns it's curious,
but intelligent eyes to them. Sapharwyn doesn't approach it, but merely gestures in reverance to the animal.

"This is a pure blooded Meara. We call him Dusk. He will be Eomer's new companion once Firefoot
is out of commission, as our big grey mule over there is getting older, i'm afraid...isn't he magnificent??
We usually let him roam the plains free...But Eomer wants him to get used to being in a stable for a few days.
He doesn't seem to mind at least..Oh, and careful not to touch him. He let's no one but Eomer do so." She smiles up at the horse, who snorts in greeting.

"Where are your and Aragorn's steed at? I should like to meet your's again." She asks.

ValiChan In reply to Rohavon [2015-07-26 03:43:59 +0000 UTC]

Thurin seemed happy to see Firefoot again, it had made him remind the first time Sapharwyn had introduced him to the horse. And again, the horse didn't look friendly at all. He was probably going to become a grumpy elder.

"He never seems to be in the mood at all" He snorted as well, following her to see the Meara. It was trutly beautiful and even majestic, worth for a King, specially the King of Rohan.

The warning to not touching him made Thurin want to touch the horse even more. Like a stubborn kid, he seemed to be unleashing all his curiosity and disobedience outside his city. Out of the sight of his father, the only thing that remainded him behaving was his own conscience. And Aragorn's presence, of course.

"Well I'm not really sure where they might been, but we could find them... mmm..." Thurin put two fingers on his lips and tried to hiss. He failed at first and then the second time. He flushed and tried again, the hiss worked this time, and seconds later he heard a familiar whinny. "Feoer!" He troted towards the sound and eventually saw him, and next to him was Brego.

The older horse looked a bit sad and nostalgic in the stables. Thurin patted his nose worried.

"Hey, he doesn't look very happy here" Thurin looked at his eyes. "Maybe its the sad memories, hey friend, its fine... we're here"

Feoer peered and nuzzled Brego's head aswell. Then he whinned again at Saph as a greeting, he still remembered her.

Sapharwyn tried not to laugh at Thurins attempts to whistle to his steed.
It was adorable though. Really.
At last a whistle was heard, and the girl's green eyes brightened at the sound
of the boy's horse.

She followed Thurin, her eyes on the two stallions.
Sapharwyn didn't miss the heavy look in the bay stallions face. And it pained her as well to see it.

"I think you're right...I never knew Theodred very well. But Eomer often told me how loyal Brego was to him.
I am glad he's taken with Lord Aragorn at least. The two seem meant for each other."

Carefully, she gave Brego's chin a scritch. Giggling as Feoer whinnied at her.
"Hello there boy! I remember you as well."
Her lips curve into a smile, giving Thurin's horse a chin scritch too.

"Just as beautiful as I remember. My own horse is in the other stable. But we can visit her later.
We still have a city to explore. I was thinking we could visit the markets too. "

And with that, she gestures for Thurin to follow her.

Feoer looked at the boys leaving the stabbles and snorted. He was tired from the long trip and wondered how the little human still had energy to walk. Well, after all he had been all the trip on his back. Feoer looked around and feeling protected enough in the stabbles, the horse heavily fell down on the ground and settled. Brego looked at him and tilted his head.

Thurin followed Saph very eager and started to wonder more things. Probably he would see things in the markets that he couldn't see in his city. He wondered if he could get any interesting treasure. And food... he was getting hungrier. Food and maybe Saph could show him a place to sit at least for a couple of minutes.

He wasnt tired, wasn't he? Thurin tried to convince himself that he still had enegry to explore, but his feet started to burn a little. He tried to ignore it and hide this fact to the rohir. "What kind of things do you sell more often here?" He asked curious. "Besides the food... ... do you think we could get something to eat?" He lowered his voice as they walked, aswell he lowered his pace a little.

His mouth twitched as he felt a cramp in his left leg. Thurin hissed and gasped. "... and maybe a place to sit" He whispered to himself, sweating.

Sapharwyn walked with Thurin out of the Stables. The glaring sun and wind greeting them as they came out.
The Eorlingas girl led the Gondorian boy down the slope, tying her hair back with a leather band to keep the wind out of her face.

"Oh, various things." She waved a hand.

"Fabrics, food, finery, horses, other livestock. And with the war over and trade routes more open,
hopefully more goods...And Don't worry, we'll find something for you" She chuckled.

The atmosphere became busier as they descended down the slope. The citizens of Edoras
either shouted about their wares to get peoples attention, or were buying something from the various
stalls and tents.

Sapharwyn points out the tavern, her expression guarded.
"The best food is sold there but...Papa doesn't want me going in there. He says it's not a place
for people our age...There's other places though!" She piqued as she lead Thurin even further down the Hill. Oblivious to his physical discomfort.
The Eorling approached a woman behind a pile of crates, a green tent flapping in the wind above her, held up
by four poles. sapharwyn heard her companion gasp all of a sudden, turning her head around to see a little pained expression on Thurin's face.
"..Are you ok? Surely you're not tired already!...We'll find a place to sit, don't worry, we should get something to eat in the mean time.
Sapharwyn turns her head back to the women as they approach.

"Wes'Hal, Deorbridd." She smiled sweetly at the middle aged woman, fumbling her satchel for her palm sized
hand bag that held the coins.

The woman mentioned turned around, her grey eyes studying the two children before her.
"Ah, Good afternoon girl! And who's this? Found a sweetheart already?" She winked at Thurin.

Sapharwyns face flushed red as she glanced at Thurin in an embarrassed expression.
"No! no no no, he's only a friend. I was just wondering if you had any Honey cakes left?"

Deorbridd snorted.
"Shame, he looks like a nice boy. You know the royal family has always had a thing for Gondorians." She laughed.
It was her hobby to tease those she was fond of. "And you're in luck, I just made a new batch twenty minutes ago.
They're still warm."

The woman hands the children two cakes wrapped in a clean cloth. "Enjoy your stay in Rohan!" She winks at Thurin again.

Sapharwyn hands deorbridd the coins, giggling as she leads Thurin away. "Sorry about that. The more she gets to know you, the more
relentless her teasing will become...Over there! That should be a good place to sit down."

A tiny fountain bubbled water in the middle of a courtyard, surrounded by at least four benches. All of which were empty, save
for a bird.

There's no way you will get him up the hill again if its not in a wheel-barrow //hit
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thurin felt a delicious scent in the air that gave him a little second breath. Both approached to the place the scent came from. Thurin knew it smelled like something familiar... sweet, honey maybe?

He looked at the middle aged woman who reminded him one of the cookers in the citadel. He was focused in finding the delicious dish that attracted him when he heard the word "sweetheart". The woman was winking at him and the next thing he saw was Saph blushing.

Thurin flushed to the root of his hair when he got what was going on. He chuckled a little at the comment about the relationships between the royals of Gondor and Rohan. He scratched the back of his neck.

And then the cakes drew his attention again. "Oooh, they look so delicious" He said eager, his smalt blue eyes sparkled when he looked at Saph. "Thank you" He grinned at Deorbridd and waved at her as they left. "Its fine. Some servants in the citadel always tease me as well... but well, this time it was more direct" He laughed awkwardly.

The boy looked at the fointain and hurried his pace to the benches. "Just a few minutes and I will be fine again to keep exploring" He smiled confident and sat, stretching his legs forward as far as he could. But being sat still felt a little uncomfortable after the long ride. He cursed in his mind and tried to convice himself he still didn't need a bed.

"So... let's eat!" He smiled widely and moved his fingers, ready to taste his first culinary delight in Rohan. But he suddenly remembered about the King's joke about the food and calmed down a little. But honey cakes were honey cakes, he was still willing to eat it and positively thinking he would enjoy it.

"That's because they are!" She laughed in reply to his observance of the Honey cakes.
"Good. There's still the inside of the Golden Hall I want to show you. We can climb back up later...If you're up for it."

She explained, huffing in amusement all of a sudden.
"Still saddle sore from the ride?" The rohir teased. "And I agree."

Sapharwyn took a bite of her treat, savoring the flavors on her tongue, and taking her time.
Her green eyes roamed around the premise of her home, looking at the distant White mountains as she spoke.

"I know this place can seem rather...quaint. With our thatched roofs and all...But there's still a certain charm
and beauty to it. Edoras would probably look more impressive, like Helms deep, if we had a stone quarry nearby."

She gestures to the expanse of grass and some scant trees that dot the landscape in the distance.

"But alas, all they had to work with when they built Edoras was hay and wood. For as you can see, the mountains
are far away. Can you imagine them hauling rocks all the way from the Mountains and back to here? Only the Valar could do that."
She chuckles, finishing up her honeycake.

Thurin followed her sight and looked at the White Mountains too as he nibbled on the cake. He wanted to eat it in few bites as hungry as he was, but he decided to go slow and enjoy the sweet flavour of his favourite treat. He loved honey, and of course he loved to add it to many things; tea, cakes, cookies, bread.

"Well... its very different to what I'm used to see" He mumbled, looking at the city again. "But... that's what it makes it amazing" He smiled at her "Imagine it was similar to Minas Tirith, it would be boring to see that everyplace looks the same. When I wonder about Rivendell and The Shire everytime people talk about those places, I cant help to think what kind of different things I could get to see If I could visit there. Same thing with Edoras, I was so excited when I heard I could come, imagine if I was told that looked exactly like my city... It wouldn't have been that interesting"

The boy stretched again and nommed on his cake. He imagined the citizens hauling rocks to build the city and laughed.

"How far is Helm's deep?" The boy was suddenly excited for adventure. He had hear from the King and his father about the citadel and the great battle. He knew it wasn't very near from Edoras, but he still had a little hope. On the other hand, he feared the orcs and wargs. The king had fallen once from a clift -Thurin wondered which place it was- and thankfully Aragorn was still alive. "... no, forget it, after the incident with the orcs I believe no one would let us go outside Edoras" He laughed awkwardly.

She studies Thurin thoughtfully, a smile tweaking her lips.
"You have a point there, Thurin. I suppose if it was made of stone it would just look like another Minas Tirith, or osgiliath."

Albeit a alot shorter and a tad more greyer, but still. She could see where the Gondorian boy was coming from.
Her gaze grew thoughtful once again as Thurin asked about the main settlement of Western Rohan.
She had only ever been there once herself. But Sapharwyn could remember it was an impressive sight to see. Even with the
blown up portion of the wall.

"a day and a half, as the horse rides. On foot, it could be three."
She shrugs, taking another bite of her honey cake and resting her elbows on her knees.
"I have only seen it once. After the war, Papa took me to see it. The broken wall is a bit of an eyesore...I should have loved to see
it when it was whole." A sigh escapes her. Her face grows sad for a minute, but she does her best to talk about a happier note.
"Did you hear Gimli and Legolas will be there for awhile? Eomer has allowed the dwarf to mine for a time there. I wonder what he'll find!"
She would make a note to Eomer, to make a note to Gimli, to find something pretty for her. Saph hoped for a Lapis Lazuli gemstone.

The Eorling girl has to laugh at Thurin's comment.
"oh, I wouldn't know about that. See those watch towers along the walls?" She points.
"They would see an orc coming from a mile away...But you're right. Eomer was pretty shaken up about that, and doesn't want me
going out of the walls of Edoras without an escort...A fully trained, adult warrior, mind you." She nudges him playfully.

Sapharwyn takes a few more bites out of her treat, and it's gone from her hands.
She glances at Thurin, raising an eyebrow.
"Ready to make the climb once you're done?"

Thurin choked on Saph's comment and pretended to be offended, pouting. "I am fully trained and selftaught... in the arts of getting in troubles" He chuckled with his arms crossed over his chest. "I understand, dad is a little protective with me too, I can't go outside the city alone though I sometimes sneak up to explore when guards do watch... I honestly think if It wasn't because I'm under the King's care now he wouldn't have let me come here"

He smiled longingly, already missing his adoptive father a little, then he smiled. "I bet the King is more nervous about me than my father yonder in the city, I always manage to rile him a little" He scratched his arm a bit nervous, finishing his cake. "I still think he likes me a little if he agreed to bring me here"

Thurin suddenly jumped from his seat and breathed deeply in a really quick change of subject. "Fine, I think I'm ready, let's go!" The boy looked at the top of the hill and grimaced, but he was decided to climb back there, after all... probably a big feast was awaiting for them.

Sapharwyn let out an unlady like snort of amusement.
"Hah! Exactly." She giggled, patting his shoulder.
She listened as Thurin explained about him and Aragorn, nodding in agreement.
"Being the children, well, adoptive children of kings. has it's perks. We get front row access to all the best sights in Middle Earth."
She would have to bug Eomer about letting her see Fenmark and Isenguard. She'd never seen the other, largeish Rohirric settlement.
And she wanted to see the famed tower of Orthanc. provided that the ents wouldn't mind them there...Also ents. She would love to see them too.

She shook her head to bring herself out of her reverie, almost missing Thurins next comment.

"How come Lord Boromir didn't come with you? Is he needed back in Minas Tirith?...And I always had the impression Aragorn saw you as one of his own." She smiles, patting his shoulder again.

Sapharwyn stands up as Thurin finishes his meal, smoothing her skirts.
"Great, we'll take it slow though. I don't want to have to push you up the hill on a wheelbarrow.*

"You think so?" He whispered, unconsciously gazing at the Golden Halls in the distance, as if he could get to see him. Then he looked at her hand in his shoulder and smiled.

"I think for this occasion I will agree to go slow, I dont want everyone looking at me again as we go up the hill" He chuckled at the idea of him in a wheelbarrow. "Well... maybe you wouldn't want to push me up the hill, but imagine going down in one" His smile turned mischievous as he imagined himself running down that fast.

Sapharwyn tweaks a smile.
"I missed you too, I shall never forget my time in Minas Tirith, that's for sure."
The girl shrugged, adjusting her side braid a little bit.

A snort of amusement escaped her throat at Thurin's comment.
"Heh, i'm sure you won't be such a novelty around here. What, with your blonde hair and blue eyes!
If you weren't wearing your Gondorian attire, the people of Edoras would think you one of us."

Truth be told, as they passed by citizens, some did stare a little at Thurin's uniform before
doing whatever they were doing.

"Ohhhh..." Sapharwyn mused to herself, imagining the two of them racing down the hill
in a wheelbarrow..."Our parents would never let us out of our rooms!" She laughed.

The thunder of hoofbeats sounded from atop the hill suddenly. She couldn't see the horse
who was making them, but it sounded like it was running...A chestnut mare suddenly jumped
over a pile of rags just then, heading down the hill. Sapharwyn gasped and pulled Thurin aside so they would not get in the beast's way. Furious shouting came from farther up, a man in a red shirt and dark brown pants was pounding down the hill after his steed.

"Eothain..." Sapharwyn recognized the man, and a chuckle escaped her.

Meanwhile, the man mentioned was frantically gesturing toward the citizens down below.
"Somebody grab her reins! Quick!"

"Oohh you're saying im too common?" Thurin pouted and ruffled his own hair. "Maybe my actual relatives were from Rohan" He mumbled dryly and looked away as they walked. "Well, at least it's very similar to my dad's hair so I go from being perceived unless people ask".

Then he laughed again about the wheelbarrows idea. They wouldn't only be grounded, Eomer would probably freak out, Boromir would give be scolding him for hours, if not a whole day. And that would probably mean no rides, no sneaking food from the kitchen, no dessert, no dinner... and Aragorn, the only mental image of the King mad, furious, ragging at him made the boy shiver. "Yeah... forget what I said... that's crazy-" He gasped.

"-WOAH" Thurin opened his eyes widely. It took him a moment to realize it had been a horse the big chesnut blur that had almost hit them. "I guess... that's not a common thing here in Edoras, is it?" He felt his heart bumping a little faster than usual, until he heard the man shouting. "Oooh... shall we try to get her?" He smiled at Saph, very excited, forgetting again he was any tired. It would be a funny experience and he could brag about it later if they succeed.

Another man stood in the way of the wayward horse, causing her to rear up and turn back up the mountain.
Sapharwyn shouted in Rohirric, trying to command the animal to stop, but it wouldn't heed her.
The mare had swerved away from Sapharwyn as she made a grab for the reins, it's legs carrying it toward Thurin.

Thurin watched the mare run scared toward another man and changing the direction of sprint. He felt a little confused and helpless, but reacted when he saw the mare running back to Sapharwyn. "Beware Saph!"

Then the chesnut horse sprinted toward him with the reins lose and besides being scared, Thurin grabbed them and his wrist got caught between them, he stumbled before being dragged along with her . "Woahh! Shhh...shh... easy girl" The boy panicked, trying to run at the same rate, but he was dragged again every few steps.

"Shhh.. shhh... stop" He tried to soothe her and free himself at the same time. He pulled as hard as he could to set him free and made the horse head move at his side forcefully, slowing her a little.

The chestnut mare let out a loud, alarmed whinny as she felt a boy pull on her reign's.
The animal started to slow down a little as the boy pulled on them, succeeding in slowing down a little, until she
was lifting up her legs in an agitated state.

Eothain finally reached them, panting hard and sweat pouring from his brow.
"Easy there Willa, Bema if a little spat with another sends you off into a frenzy i'll have to isolate you."
He growled, stroking her neck a few times to calm her further.

Sapharwyn had caught up to them by then, an impressed expression on her face.
"We'll make a horse lord of you yet, Thurin!" She laughed. she gestures to the man with them.
"This is Eothain, captain of the Royal Guard. Eothain, Thurin. One of our Gondorian visitors."

The man mentioned grabbed Thurin's hand to shake it. "Nice horsemanship there! Even if you just pulled
on the reigns a bit. If she ever bolts out again, I will be sure to find you." He chuckles, patting his steed
affectionately.

"You two need a ride up the hill? Our Gondorian friend looks a little worn out."

Thurin sighed deeply once he could free himself from the reigns, he rubbed his wrist and looked at his clothes; from his knees down he couldn't tell what color his pants were and his boots were worn out a little... a little more than they were already. "I'm not really sure if I will be a good reference if the mare dragged me so long" He chuckled a little, still catching his breath.

Eothain shook his hand and he yelped, he was still a little sore for the grip, maybe moving his wrist a little would ease the pain. "Well... I just hope to not be in their way if there's a next time" He joked and hurried to nod at the invitation. "I have been here just for a couple of hours and I already think Edoras is a very hectic city"

"i'll walk. I've been up and down many times so much it doesn't wear me out anymore." Sapharwyn added.
"Fair enough." Eothain shrugged.

The mare glanced at Thurin, Sapharwyn couldn't be to sure...But she swore she saw a glare in that animal's gaze.
"Eothain...She won't throw Thurin, will she?" She asked in conern.
"Don't worry yourselves. She won't hurt an inch of skin of your friend...As long as I hold her reigns at least."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thurin felt his pride hurt a little as Sapharwyn refused the invitation, he felt he was behaving like a pampered baby, but on the other hand he had been travelling for days, and it was fair. And Saph was more used to this as she said, he still felt a bitter feeling as he looked at the back of the mare.

He was ready to jump on her when Saph spoke again. "... Are you sure?!" He looked at Eothain, gulping. The last thing he needed was to launched over the mare's head. That would be as humillating as painful it sounded in his mind. He usually rode familiar horses; Feoer, Brego, even Raven who was really stubborn, never threw him. But this was a foreing horse, and a very wild one as he saw.

"Well... I will believe you, don't be rude to me okay?" He smirked at the mare and jumped on her back, quickly straddling her and pushing his own body forward to hug her neck first. "Eru take the reins..." He whispered, closing his eyes and gripping them tightly, kicking her sides softly, hoping the mare would walk.

"Quite sure!" Eothain reassured him. He observed as the boy pulled himself up onto the mare's back.
making sure he wouldn't fall. Once he was seated, the rider grabbed the reins and helped Thurin lead Willa back to the stables.
"Forgive me for my steed's bad temper. She was a wild horse a few weeks ago. I lost my previous one to  old age, bless his heart, and had to find me a younger one." He patted the horse on the nose lovingly.

"Looks like she still needs some taming to do." Sapharwyn chuckled.

"Nah. She needs to be stable broken, but I don't think i'll ever tame her." He laughed.

Willa was obedient enough. She carried Thurin up the hill until they reached the stables where she belonged in.
Eothain gestured to Thurin for him to dismount.

"You rode alright. I'm surprised she didn't even jump around. Guess she sensed there was a younger man on her back. Where you two headed now?" The man asked.

"We haven't explored the Golden Hall yet." Sapharwyn answered.

Thurin felt his body relaxing as the mare walked quietly back to the top of the hill. "It's fine" He chuckled. "I think I would behave like that If I were her." The boy sighed an looked at Eothain. "It's really sad that animals live much less than we do, I'm sorry to hear that" He mumbled, but after some chatting they were laughing again as Eothain doubted he would ever tame her.

Once they were on the stables, Thurin carefully slided off from one of her sides. "Thank you for the ride, Willa, sorry If I hurted you back there when I caught you" He wanted to pat her face, but he prefered to just give the mare a carress on her sides. Hearing about the Golden Halls made him aware again.

"Oh... right!" At least they were going to be inside this time. He hoped this part of the exploration to be a little more quiet, exciting anyway. He shock Eothain's hand again as goodbye.

Eothain accepted his handshake, saying farewell to the children. Willa just whuffed into Thurin's face as Eothain turned her around toward the stables.
And if that weren't enough, she flicked his face with her black tail.
Sapharwyn couldn't help but chuckle. "Seems like you'll have to feed her many treats if you want to get back on her good side."

The Rohir smoothed out her skirts. Her gaze wandering to Meduseuld. 'Right then! Golden Hall it is."
Sapharwyn stopped at the base of the steps. Quirking an eyebrow up as she looked back at Thurin.

"Think you can make it up all these stairs? Last one there is a smelly warg!"

"You never know! Perhaps you can run up the stairs fast, you just might not know it yet."
She shouted as she kept going up, the rohir was already in the middle of the second section of stairs. There
were three in all, each having Eight or more steps.

It was in this moment that she decided to turn her head around to see where Thurin was.

" Gah it didnt work" He frowned and got up quickly, running upstairs again. He knew he could do it, Minas Tirith had a lot of stairs, how could he lose with that training. He was decided to not be the smelly warg, or Saph would have a reason to tease him for some time. He reached her and it became a very close race.

He jumped to the last stair gasping, his breath almost gone, and quickly looked at her.

its okay, its short because it needs to be, i guess we have long or shorts replies IT DEPENDS ON THE THRILL OF THE MOMENT
what if we actually make this a draw and they are both smelly wargs? if you want to tho
Thurin can still be a warg full of fleas //hit

SMELLY WARGS THEY SHALL BE

---

Sapharwyn's foot reached the top of the stone terrace. The same time Thurin's foot did so as well.
Sapharwyn panted, resting her hands on her knees. She made eye contact with Thurin, s smile
tweaking her lips.

"I guess this makes us both smelly wargs." She giggled, raising her wrist to her forehead to wip the sweat
off of it.
The door guards in front of them looked as stoic as ever. But they were secretly amused by the
childrens race. Some had even placed bets on which one would win.

"Ready to go inside?" She asked the boy next to her. "I can show you where your chambers will be."
That's if she remembered where they were staying.

TAKE A BATH YOU GUYS
-----------------------------------------------
Thurin felt a sharp twinge in his right side, very painfully. It always happened when he was agitated after running for a long time or just doing exercise. It had been some time since he felt that twinge until now, and he knew how annoying it was. He breathed heavily as he recovered the normal pace of his breathing and puffed many times. "Smelly... messy...wargs" He laughed. "Tonight I'm going to fall asleep a log, I just hope to get to go to bed before doing it" He complained until he heard her question. "That's great, so I can have an idea where to lie then" He joked. "I follow you, I guess it can't be hard this time" The boy whispered, rubbing his legs and knees.

SORRY ITS TAKEN THIS LONG TO REPLY I AM SO BAD AT THIS SOBS
My muse died for a bit but it came back yaay <3

Sapharwyn snorted in amusement, patting her friend's shoulder.
"No need to worry. It would be hard getting lost in Meduseld."

She begins to walk to the doors with Thurin, the wards opening them for the children.
Inside was a bustle of activity. Servants trotted around either cleaning tables, placing
culinary items on tables, or turning meat on spits in a firepit at the center of the Feast hall.

Others were beginning to prepare wax to put into the chandeliers for the making of candles.

"Everyone is getting ready for the feast. The Royals must be in Eomer's study." Sapharwyn puts in. Her gaze wanders toward the fire pit, mouth watering at the tantalizing scents wafting from the smoke.

"Looks like it's ham and turkey tonight." She observes with eagerness in her voice.

It's fine! :33
Dont worry about it, sometimes that happens
im glad it came back though now put a collar to it //hit
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thurin stared at everything as quick as he could. He was amazed with Meduseld, but what it drew more attention from him was that... delicious...warm odor. The image of the meat in the firepit penetrated through his eyes and awakened the beast in his stomach again. The little cake was just a snack and though the was greatful, he really wanted to eat soon.

"Turkey?" His mouth watered, imagining the big, roasted turkey in a plate, screaming in silence "EAT ME". "I love turkey... Oh, I cant wait, do you think we will eat soon?" He blushed at the question, but he was eager. Then he looked at himself "... but I guess I should wash first"

He looked around "Where's your father study?" He was curious, not wanting to enter yet maybe, but at least he wanted to know, he wanted to see more.
