I don't mind rap so much, it just sort of hangs on the fringes of what I'd call "music". I like how Linkin Park (pardon the example) integrates it into their music.
I think that if you're going to use rhythm and language as the sole basis of your music, you should make both of these elements worthwhile. Make the text meaningful, and use it in a way that wouldn't be common to poetry. Tie the rhythm and the word flow together to create art on a higher level. And for god's sake, stop ending words with "-izzle"!
And by "you", of course, I mean the theoretical person.
