I design scenery for shows in San Diego, and I also work as an assistant at the Old Globe. Portfolio at [link] . The work is basically sketching, model-making, and realizing designs with draftings and color renderings.

Did you build and paint a fauz floor on A Little Night Music? Or is the stage a natural gloss with the three deck levels?

We painted over the old floor and added extension platforms for the two levels. The wood planking was designed for the production: It was painted onto 4x8 sheets of Maso that had been previously painted many times. The boards are all lined out in magic marker, and glazed multiple times, with a finish of satin Varathane... Good question!

"Scene Design and Stage Lighting" Ninth Edition, is coming out this late March. The authors are Parker/Wolf/Block, and it is published by Wadsworth (formerly Holt/Rinehart). The Tartuffe model is in a section about using Photoshop to add lighting to scale models. Glad you are so inspired! You have a very cool gallery as well
