Even genres that you don't think have underground scenes, they totally do.
Like pop for example, I'd say some of the snythwave and synthpop artists that are coming out are the underground "pop" scene.
In my opinion, music thrives in the underground, because its not scene as a product, but as an art.

I was into a lot of classic metal and rock, like Deep Purple, Judas Priest and Dio, before I really got into power metal,
but it's really become my favorite genre over years.
It doesn't take itself so dang seriously all the time, and its the genre, I think has the most fun in metal, maybe next to the Thrash fans lmao.
I'd have to say when it comes too power metal, Blind Guardian, Kamelot (Roy Khan era) and early era Symphony X
Rhapsody of Fire is so great though, it got me so hype whenever I'd listen to one of their albums and I'd hear Christopher Lee's voice.
It was so badass.

I agree with how Synthwave and Synthpop are underground. A lot of my favourite Synthpop bands from the 80s aren't mainstream anymore.
And that's probably the best thing I've heard all year! It is art! Sadly greedy record companies are treating music like... well... a way to get money. That's way a lot of new music (Not all of it though) seems a lot like the same.

I'm about 2hrs away from Toronto, a small city called St. Thomas, its not great here haha.
It's pretty close to London, if you know where that is.Β
But yeah metal has been a passion for me for so long, it's something I could never get tired of.
Finnish is so unique when it comes to languages, I could see it being really tough to learn, some of the words look tough to pronounce haha.Β
My ancestors came from Scandinavia, Sweden/Denmark on my mom's side and my dad's side is mostly slavic (so I'm super white LMAO), I'd love to learn those languages or maybe even old norse would be rad.
