Fine Art Graduate of University College Falmouth, UK.Working primarily from film stills, but also from collections of everyday images, I manipulate the associated personal relationships, unity and separation that existing figurative imagery can bring. I change the meanings and explore interactions by replacing, imposing, removing and comparing multiple elements. This is then pushed further through the flexible medium of paint. The abstract painterly qualities where a collage starts to fall apart and lose its figurative elements are an important part of finding a balance in the work. I utilise a variety of painting styles where necessary, emphasising the importance of marks to enforce the assorted imagery.
