Hello! Sure, I'd be happy to answer your questions!
1) For the anime faces, I use printable cotton fabric sheets with a sticky back. I draw out and paint the eyes, smiles, noses, flags, etc in my computer, then print them onto the fabric paper. I cut them out, peel away the backing paper, add a little Bostick/UHU strong glue on the back (to help keep the paper permanently attached to the mochis) and them stick them down.
2) The top hats for the UK mochi are actually blank Hat fascinators that I found on ebay! (I couldn't find hard enough fabric to make them totally by myself. ) I customise them by adding Union Jack ribbon and the "London Life" stickers from Accessorize. I made Pirate England mochi's hat from scratch though, using thick felt. I've found acrylic felt to be a great felt for making hats from!
