So I posted this to someone else who was worried about that "losing ownership" bit, and I'll post it here for you, just to clarify why I have that.
"Because the entry may be used as a character later on in the series. First contest I got a handful of awesome designs that didn't fit what I was looking for so they didn't win, but I was hoping to use the designs for other characters. Unfortunately those contestants after they lost just went and pretty much took the character back and used it themselves. Just because a design doesn't win doesn't mean I didn't want to use it. Honestly, I'm likely going to sneak in as many designs I can in the series, the main thing is they're not going to be apart of the main cast. That's why I don't want them used elsewhere, I'd like the option opened to still use them in this universe without worrying of them having a doppelganger in another series. It could get confusing.Β
If you don't win or get mentioned as a runner up I'm fine releasing that contract, just add a note you'd like the ownership back if you don't win when/if you send in an entry."
