Agii Apostoli in Chania? I have never been there, but considering the other places I ve visited there it must be really nice...
I grew up in the city of Heraklion but my parents are from the south of the island. It' s nice you can keep visiting frequently, even with this so long distance!!

Yes that's the one! It is a very small town. It's long distance but it's so beautiful and inspiring there, I always come back full of inspiration (not to mention healthy food) I'm currently trying to learn Greek so that I can have more conversations with my cousins. Still just at the beginning. I have a hard time reading it still, but i'm using livemocha.com which is a great resource. I've been to heraklion too! Everywhere in Crete is amazing, best place in the whole Mediterranean

Perhaps you mean the cave of Agios Ioannis? There are so many caves here, I dont know them all, but I guess the one you describe will be really beautiful.
I am glad you like the island!! I dont know about the rest of Mediterranean, but here there are a lot of beautiful places to visit, palm-tree forests, canyons, mountains and villages and of course the sea...
I guess learning greek can be confusing at the beggining, with different alphabet and complex grammar, but as long as you try and talk often, you 'll soon find it easier and easier... You can try listening songs in greek and reading their lyrics, maybe this will be a more helpful and entertaining way to learn!

It's quite sunny back in the homeland. Someone told me we get 300 days of sun a year, I didn't really notice until getting back but I'm not complaining!
