Well, the way I learned a few tricks is by carrying my camera around with me and taking pictures every day. After a while when practicing you learn a few tricks (certain settings that worked great) and associate them with certain areas/situations such as sunsets or flowers. You never know when you might want to take a picture, at least for me that's how I look at it so I keep a camera on me most of the times. A lot of spontaneous shots, completely unplanned, turned out to be one of my greatest.Your photography skill is great so please continue on taking pictures ^_^. What really makes a photo pop is to try and edit it with different tools such as Pixlr which offers preset effects or a photo editing tool. A lot of the times a photo is great untouched but it won't hurt if you work on it in a photo editing tool first and then compare the results and upload the best one.
