Welcome to Balthasar Craft - Reversing the Industrial Revolution one piece at a time.
I make hand crafted one-of-a-kind wire wrap, gemstone and sea glass jewelry! Every piece has a story, some unknown and waiting to be told, others hinting with soft secrets of unseen worlds. I create wire wrap pendants, earrings, ear cuffs, bracelets, chokers, and ornate head pieces with the inspiration of ancient times and times that never were ...
Gemstones, crystals, sea glass, shells, and other natural materials are used to create my unique jewelry, inspired by Mother Earth herself. My work is environmentally friendly and crafted with love and positive energy. Be at one with the earth, sea, air, and fire of Creation. Balthasar Craft is your natural jewelry store.
If you're interested in a custom made piece please contact me! I love to take commissions!

Awww, your little squeal about preciousa or whatever it's called ... so adorable. I'm probably going to obsessively try to imitate that adorable voice of yours when we're hanging out. I've been waiting for ages to see what you do with that triquetra. I love that little lilt you give my name. Ky-llllah.
I didn't mean to take days to watch this. I'm in the middle of a tenancy nightmare. It's so not fun trying to find a place to move after my fourth nightmare landlord in a row. Doesn't make for good references

LOL. Everyone says I have a weird accent or say a few things differently than expected. I blame military travel and watching foreign films. If you start sounding like me I pity our men. Two squealing chipmunks running amok in a craft store...
What happened with all the landlords? My past few have been a roller coaster. One that refused to give back our deposit because the apt complex was destroyed in a god fart of a storm. The next one was in an apt complex with multiple murders, assaults, and break-ins. We broke contract by leaving early, but instead of fining us they kept the deposit. The last one was a slumlord. The one we have right now is fantastic and has made it clear she'll miss us, but also envies us for the location we're moving to.
Your next place, if possible, should be Bend, Oregon. Big outdoor activity place, so it's gonna have a few RV parks I think. Will you have to abandon your RV? I hope not. We can afford a two or three bedroom apt with the increase in Joe's pay, but if things are too tight for y'all maybe we can pool our resources and get a four bedroom townhouse for a few years? Joe and I are saving for a house with his lawsuit money. In two or three years we'll have enough for a downpayment.

Your accent sounds vaguely midwestern to me with bits of other stuff mixed in. Everyone just tells me I sound Canadian heheh. Since we're both mimics, we'll probably butcher each others' accents even more when we meet.
Glad to know that we're not the only ones who had a slew of horrible landlords. I mean, not glad you went through that, just sometimes it feels like we're the only people to have these experiences. Ours went like this: One turned out to be a con artist, who tried to con us, then tried to con my parents when we moved out. The next was just ... crap, and tried to drag us down with his sinking mortgage ship. He actually cut off his own wife's caretaker's income. I forget how, but she took him to court. Third one threw us out of a park for BS reasons. This place is full of crime, drugs, assault, etc, and the owner is all buddy buddy with all the people who do that crap.
How did you deal with references when you moved into your current place? Because thanks to all this nonsense, we have none. All those people want to screw us. We're definitely keeping our RV. There's a good chance the problems with it are minor. It's just expensive to have to get a mechanic to look at it and stay in a hotel.
You and I are roughly on the same page about living in the same area or even together. Main thing stopping us is that Shawn is attached to the sea and really doesn't want to move away from it. Since you and Joe also sound like you might prefer that, perhaps we should wait and see if some kind of future possibility comes up that could have us all on the coast. We definitely should also hang out in person before we see where things go, but I can honestly say that you're one of the few people I could see having some kind of long term future with. I'm starting to think of you and Joe as a sort of extended family.

We explained our situation to the landlord/management.
With the god fart we explained the apartment had been destroyed because it was true. The second we explained that we were tired of death threats from neighbors and people in the neighborhood. This last one we explained the house had been condemned. Just honesty and it works. We're basically the neighborhood watch of our current place, and much loved by management because of that. Our neighbors don't much like us because we don't tolerate bullshit. It's why we wanna buy a house outside of whatever town we want to live near, on a plot of land around two to five acres, away from the nonsense.
As for the coast, it's iffy. The house prices are really high there, whereas the Bend/Prineville region are about average with the rest of the country. Plus more land is available. Making trips to the coastal region for a weekend getaway would be more affordable. Plus the area we're moving to is within 30 minutes of Joe's sister and her kids. Joe wants to live close to her. Plus Bend is apparently a very high tipping place for servers with the year round activities.

It took me a long time to understand why people want houses, but I can definitely appreciate the appeal of having some Space between oneself and others and some actual privacy. Mortgages scare me though. Bend really does sound like an exciting place. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to meeting you and Joe.

You're more like a bird or leaves, but I'm more of a tree. You can't sit still for too long. I, on the other hand, loathe traveling. I want to set roots and grow. Traveling doesn't sit well with me.
A mortgage is not that different from paying rent. Often less than the cost of renting a place. I'm not too concerned. Interest is really the only difference. The longer you take to finish paying the mortgage the more interest that builds up. My parents finished paying a thirty year mortgage in five years. The minimum payment a month was $500, but they paid much more so the interest would be lower. The same applies to car payments for the most part.
If you decide to move into an RV park in Bend that's be awesome. You could take trips to the shore. That is, when/if you get the engine fixed.

I am actually a "set roots and grow" kind of person, just in a ... travel-y way. The only physical place I've ever felt totally at home (Yellowstone) is too damn cold and snowy 7 months out of the year for me to call home year-round. I really wish I could go back every summer, but i'm not financially at that point. The only other place that feels like home to me beyond that is a vehicle, but it's not here. It's something I see in visions. It's my spiritual home, but I can't live there. That's probably why vehicles and travel feel best to me--sort of a shadow of what I can't have. I'm not an "up and go and leave everything behind" kind of person at all. I try to build lifelong friendships, and the places that have meaning to me I want to come back to again and again.
There's always the chance we'll fall in love with Bend. I don't see Shawn able to live away from the sea, but with the appeal of real friends who want to build a root structure with us, you might just win him over

Not gloriously, but this is likely in part because I haven't put in much effort beyond posting stuff on it :/ Although! It definitely makes a difference. I've actually had sales, whereas before that there were no sales heh. I thought of trying their advertising, but I have a hard time thinking it would pay off.

The advertising made no difference for me via etsy. I use my own page, various groups, trades, fliers, and of course wearing my work to get the word out. Conventions and fairs made the biggest difference. Word of mouth travels more quickly than you think.

I keep forgetting offline advertising can turn into online sales. That's why I never bite the bullet and pick up business cards. I'm going to make that a priority.
