You know I've been inspired twicewise. I decided to go on DA this afternoon to brainstorm for ideas for the Chalk Walk in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I've got 3 days to come up with a design for a 4x4 foot chalk space, and thanks to you, I've got my idea. I'll create my own really awesome unique little people designs, and try to give my piece a fairytale/storybook feel. Thaaaaaaanks doc!

Actually, it's interesting, when I was trying to design some little people, i instead designed a little critter. His name is Crescent, and he is a doat (Miniature cross between a deer and a goat). And then I got to thinking that I already have a little person--my gnome that lives through the gnome-door in my bedroom-- Hubert Thurble Flubberwort. Well I decided then and there that Crescent was Sir Flubberwort's noble steed, and that was the nature of my chalk design. Unfortunately the sketch came out a lot more nicely than the chalk piece, because I could not add so much detail. I will add the original design to my scraps when i get to my scanner (Scraps, because it was folded in fourths to fit in my chalk supplies bag. ) And I will add the photograph of the chalk itself, even though I do not think it came out very well. I really did like the design though, so perhaps I'll try again with a larger space...

Cool cool...hey I was just wondering if in the future, I know we are both very busy but what would you think of making a little creature of what you think I look like/represent? Then I could do the same for you even though I work a bit bigger. Just a thought!
I didn't come across any cool roots the last two days in Oregon but will be back there on Mon.. This fall will be the big time for roots when everything has died back though. Do you do anything with conks/mushrooms? Moss?

I have a small collection of roots for you now! It has been crazy for me so haven't been able to call. I started working w/ another woman landscaping and she had a bunch of jobs to catch up on, then I met with a gallery at Greenway Station that I'm exhibiting this week & have to run to Milwaukee to pick up sculptures to put in there and then drop off for him and then he wants me to bid making his signs for the gallery which will be quite a bit of work as well....okay I'm doing a rain dance now so I can get all of this done! lol I do need some birdhouses so want to get my stuff from you too and get you these roots as well!
Moss...cool stuff but would need to be well coated in a thick paint/clear cuz it dries and flakes and the shrooms/conks work excellent cuz they dry like a rock.Best part is that you can carve in them first.
So what is your week like?

I usually get most of my roots in the fall, but there's always the occasional summer roots. ^___^ I've never used mushrooms or moss, but I have a rather big project coming up that might work fabulously with those? I wonder what the indoor stability of them would be? (I need a roof for a faerie hut! eee! ^__^)
