Favorite bands / musical artists: Clutch, Monster Magnet, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Postmodern Jukebox, Leontyne Price, Sabaton, Lead Belly... suffice it to say there's some variety on offer.
Favorite books: Dune, The Arctic Grail, Cannery Row, Tortilla Flat, Dreadnought, World War Z, The Rising Sun. For today, anyhow.
Favorite writers: Frank Herbert, John Steinbeck, Sun Tzu/Sunzi, H.P. Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood, Clark Ashton Smith, Joe Abercrombie, Jesse Bullington. Well. That's today's list anyway.
Favorite games: Fallout: New Vegas, Pathfinder, old World of Darkness (especially Mage: The Ascension), Slay the Princess
Favorite gaming platform: PS2. Because I am old. Never owned a proper console, actually- most of my gaming has been on PCs
Tools of the Trade: A word processing program and a nasty disposition.

Related, but Dale was the old town... Laketown is where Bard the Hunter lives, and is where the humans who lived in Dale moved to after Smaug trashed their old digs.
