It's a gpa boost.
You know how an A in an AP class gives you a 5.0 point boost?
It's kind of like that. AP classes = College leveled = Summer college courses = AP credit worthy.
So if I get an A in a summer class, including art, it helps. o:
Plus, if I can't go off to Korea over summer and I have nothing to do besides college app/personal statement/work/Jap class, keeping myself to draw isn't a bad idea at all.
Just saying, I highly encourage you to take an easy summer course in college later. Don't take something like calculus or culinary arts... some classes might be too hard/don't help for college at all ._.

Well, art isn't a necessity 'cause I took it freshmen year, but it's just for my own sake,
Btw, even if you skip math levels, it's recommended that you take 4 years of math in high school anyway ._.; If you're considering going to med (like me and the rest of the massive part of the Asian population here, no offense ;-; ) I suggest you try skipping math courses AND taking 4 years (I skipped Calc 1... now I have to take Stats next year to have 4 years)

Ahaha... My suggestion is that unless you're actually planning to study over summer, don't skip pre-cal. If you want to skip a year of math, I enourage Calc 1 later.
But anyhow, even if you're not going to med, 4 years of math, probably the standard for just about all high school students planning to go to college, would always be helpful. ...but I'm not your mother, so I'm not going to nag you xD

That's only if you skip calc 1 over summer. I don't really suggest you skip precal because that's when you start getting used to trig... but that's only me ._. Even after taking precal in sophomore year, I still can't get used to trig/graphing. I believe in senior year, you have a choice of stats or calc 2? (or calc BC in my school); they're not combined.

I say just do what you can do. If you feel like you can skip over a year of math, then do it. If you really don't want to, then don't. Just know that if you're planning on living through high school to get into a good college/UC in order to study in a major that has a lot of competitions in intellectual education, you should do the best you can to stand out for them.
...personally, I skipped calc 1 because I didn't feel like wasting a whole year on it ._. More for my own sake rather than college issues.

Well are you taking another language course in school right now? If you're already past one year in school, that's enough. Most people don't usually take two language classes (not a bad thing, but not that necessary. Unless you want it for the GPA boost... which precalc can give you as well).

as for calc 1, I signed up for calc 2 during my course choices in my sophomore year, talked to my teacher, got it approved, and took a summer course. It's not super uncommon in my school o:
No, the class you're planning taking is not useless because it'll look nice on your records. However, if you can take precal over summer AND get an A, it'll give you a boost for college/high school gpa (just like canto) and allow you to skip into calc
