I painted it with Mason stains. They are supposed to hold their coloration very well at all firing ranges.

I love them because you can dillute them with water as you paint and get a very beautiful watercolor effect with them. It's a lot of fun to do.

Sweet. I've used mason stains just very little though. I recently had some high fire work that I have mason stains on and they held there color very well. I'm really trying to play with raku and barrel firing right now. Hopefully combining the two.

yeah -- there is this really cool white crackle glaze. I could paint with Mason stains on top of it and raku it.

I've never thought about painting on top of the raku glaze like that. I tired to put a mason stain underneath a clear crackle once and it ended up making the glaze flake off kind of like a naked raku thing.

^_^ She is. And she was really young for our class. She went back to Russia at about the end of school though.
I hope your Thanksgiving went well! I had a dream about you last night. You were at the art gallery/frame shop I work at looking at our pots going "interesting" but this glaze is really shitty you know abby. It was bizarre XD and really funny. Thats cool. Yeah I'm not a fan of hot weather either. I just moved to Oregon from Texas which is really dry and hot. Its reall wet and cool in Oregon and Mount hood gets pretty good snow fall in case i want to go board on the weekend.

Everything is dragging along here. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of stuff before this years out on this site. I'm excited to come back home for a while and I'm looking at coming home for christmas so yeah. I think I liked the fact that XAG was always fairly unorganized. Deffinately my type of group.
