This journal has the demo by Aaron Blaise on an Introduction to Photoshop. I think it's the best of all I've studied
Conditioning the Renegade Process* With all the rain this week there was nothing to do outside to shore up my manly self-esteem, so got the car inspected and had the mechanic change the oil and rotate the tires. Not exactly an investment in the art work, I know (i.e. as formulated several weeks ago). But this week was more about making withdrawals than deposits, if you catch the drift. Spent a lot of time at the keyboard researching Aaron Blaise's Photoshop demos, then applying the lessons in various ways with my own examples. Posted some results, which do double duty as my notes.
Can't say enough good things about Blaise's demos and tutorials. The fellow has a way of saying and doing that clicks with me. He provides a conceptual explanation for every step he shows, which makes the process more than a recipe. Moreover, he has adapted the technology to the creative process, instead of the other way around, which keeps the focus on drawing and painting, instead of shifting it to computer tech and the idiosyncrasies of m

LOL. I'm sure you will excel at it if you do!
This book may look simple on first glance, but it is a complete course in illustration. It has all the fundamentals, including lessons on perspective. The author, Andrew Loomis, was a great illustrator and teacher.
I have other books and resources linked on my profile page, as well. Feel free to explore!

She has a lot of tutorials at her Youtube channel. Most of them are very long and they go off on tangents all the time. But everything she says is dense with knowledge. So it is worth spending an hour soaking it up, because it comes back later when you are working and makes sense. I had to watch them several times. The more I watch, however, the more impatient they make me. She should make some short versions now that just touch the main points.
Also, her critiques are good. They are also on her Youtube channel.

Yeah, it was pretty long. I forwarded it also a little, when she was talking to much. However, I learned a lot and will watch some more of her tutorials. l have to learn a lot about digital art techniques, I started practicing one month ago

Wow, only one month ago! It can be overwhelming. I started at the end of April and it was all about PS - didn't start painting until recently.
Arron Blaise has a great intro to Photoshop. And for regular instruction I recommend Matt Kohr's library of demos at ctrlpaint.com . Both Blaise and Kohr are linked on my profile page. Blaise's intro video is in one of my journals, too - probably around May or June.

Well, I have been working with PS for some years, so that's not completely new to me. During my work as a graphic designer l used PS mainly for photo retouching. But painting in PS is different... and more difficult than l thought.^_^
I'll keep practicing! Thank you for the links!

LOL! I apologize for that mistake.
Yes. For me it is no longer the tech that presents problems, but the painting, itself - how to manage the color, create the illusion, change it this way or that. So far "flesh tones" have been the great difficulty, but I am getting the hang of them. Now the problem is bringing up the key, turning up the intensity.

What mistake?
Regarding the tech part, l am always open for new things & tricks in PS.
Painting realistic is a challenge. You are doing the flesh tones pretty good by now, and I guess also very fast.
