Well, as i said, i'm still working thru that issue myself and i'm not totally satisfied yet. I tend to use colors with the same hue so maybe you're right about it being a values type of thing. It does have to do with layers and depth and i only brought it up since you said you were concerned about the "mound" effect. It's alot easier to fix in collage. I love little holes poking thru or secret spaces that the mind wants to go inside of and explore. Just something to think about.

Thank you so much for getting back to me on that. I had been meaning to write to you. No one else responded to that painting. I was looking at it again the other day and thinking how much i like it cause of all the textures and different kinds of yellow on it. My partner was saying i was using that painting as a crutch since it was one of the first i did. I was going to write and ask you what you liked about it. So thank you for taking the time to get back to me and tell me that you really connected with it.
