If not too much trouble, I'd love to know which pencils and pens you use for your comics. Noticed in your posted videos the positioning of your fingers. Thank-you.

I use an F lead in a lead holder for laying out. Then 2b leads 5mm mechanical pencil for rendering details. With bigger objects, I use a 2b lead holder.
My pens are usually Winsor & Newton cotman III 0000,00,0, and then larger, 2,3 as needed. hunt 104, 107 nib tips. Sometimes a rapidograph pen for drawing straight lines (buildings, etc). I'm still experimenting with various inks. Don't know if I have a favorite yet, but I seem to like the speedball superblack india ink. Sometimes I throw on some zip a tone too, for style, as opposed to necessity.
My finger position with pencil is different than most. I rest the pencil against my ring-finger as opposed to the more common, middle finger. That's just the way I've always held a pencil or pen since I was a little kid. The way I hold a brush is the more common way, just seems right to me there.

Wow, you are here too. I am a huge fan of your work, it seems like you take the best of the artists that came before and create your own amazing style. And I love the way your art is evolving, I read 701 and 702. I really like how you take these chances, it pays off big time.

Digital pencils after your work

Very cool. I tried to go digital and I just couldn't get comfortable. Maybe I'll try it again in a few years when the technology is even better than today.

Thanks. My intentions are to re-establish myself as an artist and bring a style that plays naturally to my strengths. Since coming back to the mainstream a few years ago with Teen Titans, I worked hard to be mainstream as well. forsaking some style in the process. Today I'm willing to take more chances with my art.
