Your probably frustrated at yourself, for not living up to your expectations. You want to get better at art, you want to get up to the level of those you look up to so you can make something of yourself in the future.
It's something you desperately want to do, I know.
You try and practice, and take advice, but it doesnt seem to do much does it?
You're only human Will. You cant become Β great overnight. It may take Β weeks, months, years, but if you waste that time feeling bad for a process of growing and learning then it wont mean anything.
This is not going to be easy for you, you're going to mess up, your best may not be good enough at times; but that's okay. As long as you give 110%.Β
The work and effort itself will have to be your pleasure and reward for a long time before you notice major improvement or recognition. Which means that the act of drawing itself has to be fun for you not the thought of getting praise and getting something out of it.
Since your feeling pretty bummed because of your art, your obviously passionate about it. So you cant give up, or else all those feelings would have been for nothing would they?
Go out and take classes, read books, pay for learning sessions. Any chance you see to improve yourself, take it.
I'm trying to better myself in art and writing, and I know it wont be easy, and I may end up failing along the way or may never get to where i want. But I sincerely believe either way I turn out, after I know I did everything I could, I'll be happy.
Keep going forward, for yourself and those who love and want to see your success. Now matter what. It's what we as men have to do.
