I'm so excited to have found your work, again! Off*Beat was by far one of my favorite of Tokyopop's efforts to promote original manga. It was just so original, so unique, and so very different than the tradition BL genre stuff coming out of Japan, at the time. Thank you for continuing your work!

Also, I just finished reading your manga hosted on MangaMagazine.net, and I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to see you continuing your tradition of turning genres on their head! I absolutely LOVE Witche's Quarry, so far, and am thrilled that you've been promoted on the website. I also find myself incredibly intrigued by the potential in the short stories Hunger and Threads.

D'aww! Thanks for taking the time to give me' so much feedback. I don't think I make it my intention to "turn" genre as you said, but I do have pretty strong sensibilities that I want to subtly break down some of the cliches and troupe types that I got a bit tired of reading about. My primary goal though, is to entertain so I am very happy you have been able to enjoy my work.

I am actually thinking of expanding "Hungry" in the future, though by the time I am able to flesh it out completely, it probably will only be a vague reference to the short story.

my publisher originally hoped to get everything ready for the mid/end of 2012 so I had thought it would be this year. legal issues and such have taken much longer than expected so I am hesitant to make any more announcements until I have things in writing. I'm still waiting on that...

Hi! I was just wondering, the title Off*Beat, does that have anything to do with Jack Kerouac and his definition of 1950's youngsters as the 'Beat Generation'? Coz that particular concept was BEYOND interesting and it's sort of connected to the theme of your manga so... yeah. It just piqued my curiosity.

I can't claim I had Jack Kerouac specifically in mind when I came up with the title but I did have a very loosely related connotative meaning to the word in my brain. It was originally one of those "working" titles that just stuck. I honestly thought TP would make me change the title because it has that weird star in the middle!
