# About me
Just a pixel-pusher, and a goofball. I often don't feel like drawing and just color other people's beautiful line arts. I like manipulating color, and playing with blending colors. So color-pusher? Doesn't sound as cool as pixel-pusher though...# Comments

Manga Academy silly.
i discovered the whole CGT major thing in my first year or so of college, so here i am.
i like PS, but apparently i'm really good with illustrator. but it's rather tempting to not consider gradient mesh to be art really, even they do look damn good with you handle them right. i go nuts if i go too long without creating something. be it a sketch, working on a story, pottery, PS, etc. It's like i just have this need to be creative.
i suck at taking pictures, even with a pretty nice camera.
no such thing. we can sit here and write novels on my profile and i won't be bothered in the slightest.
not have to move back in with my parents, get a job somewhere, live, work somewhere in my field, hopefully enjoying it. doing something with web or page layout and such. not be like my mom who went to college while i was in high school, worked really had to get a degree in biology and now works in a peanut butter company.

I know, MA, I realized it last night.
I learned CorelDraw which is like Illustrator way before PS and now I rarely use it. I have Illustrator but I still have to sit down and work on it. I'm stuck with PS. I love vector art though. I think a lot of artists do their inking in Illustrator making the line crisp then exporting it to PS. Now I discovered SAI and I like doing the inking there. What I'm saying is I use the software that benefits me the most so I'm more a PS user for now.
Well good for you. I almost took BS Biology but then I realized what will I do after, be a teacher, unless I go into Medicine. So I hope you're mom can work in research or something.
Good luck to you and Yay! for Art Passion!

i think i've heard of coreldraw, but i don't think i've actually used it before. stuff like normal gradients and the pen tool aren't too hard. I actually learned how to do gradient meshing from 2 tut's here on dA. Yeah, i've really thought about the next time i need to do line art, doing it in Ai, and bringing it over as like a png or something to PS, but I haven't done real line art in a long while. I should try SAI, i've heard it's good. though i'll still have keep up with PS. industry standard and all.
i was going to major in bio before I switched to CGT, and i was going to use it to go to vet school. then I found out more about vet school around the same time a friend in cgt showed me i could do art and design for a living without being a starving artist. he's more the animator type, but i'm a total css/html dork (I can sit down with notepad and PS and just work on stuff for 5, sometimes 9 hour blocks).
she probably won't be in research. she says her professors and stuff went on about how she'ld have a job that paid well. and i'm just like yeah, a job doing what? where? my professors do the same thing, but they're more specific about it.
thankies design passion too

Yeah, doing on object with front
lighting was harder than I expected,
but it was great practice.

DemonOfSarila In reply to xycolsen [2009-12-16 14:14:57 +0000 UTC]
practice is always good. come to think of it i don't think i've tried that type of lighting. yeah, i may have to try that and see how it goes. maybe.

xycolsen In reply to DemonOfSarila [2009-12-16 14:19:15 +0000 UTC]
You should try it.
The other one that gets me is ambient lighting...
...which I think can be solved by the value scale but,
it takes practice.
