Hello! Wandering though. You have some very nice art. I commend you for pushing to put backgrounds in almost all of your images. It's a challenge, but more you do it the easier it becomes.

You seem to have a good base with your anatomy, but could benefit from some more study of facial and leg structure (of course, who couldn't benefit from more study).

Keep pushing yourself and developing your art, you should go far!

Thank you for your comments and suggestions! I actually really appreciate getting critique from time to time and actually wish more people would give it. And yes, I agree the anatomy could still use work. I've only recently started doing the "smart thing" of examining a lot of actual photos of the animals for anatomy details to help me with my own art. With practice and discipline, I should hopefully get a lot better. After all, who DOESN'T have room to improve? Thanks again!

You might also consider doing some life studies at your local Zoo or other places that gives you access to animals in-action such as dog or horse shows. Photos don't always tell you everything about an animal's movements or personality, but they are a good start and convenient reference.

Very true! I realize that photos are not the most ideal of references, but unfortunately, the closest zoo is about two hours away in the heart of Atlanta (I wouldn't wish the traffic there on anyone . . .), so I don't get much opportunity to go there and watch the animals in real life. Next time I go, though, I'll definitely remind myself to bring a sketchbook!

I haven't really drawn animals since 1998, but the basic line structure of your animals seems to be down pact....*_* compile a HUGE reference picture collection =x
